Still playing with this one......
I moved the 2 tone green strip one column to the right, oh, and I cut it into 1.5" segments. I'm not sure that dark strip will stay in there. After an hour or so I left this project and checked back at it a couple times during the day.
There wasn't room on the design wall for the flannel blocks so I laid them on the floor to see how they look together. This probably isn't the final layout.
I needed to do a load of laundry, so while it was washing and drying I worked on backings and battings for the next quilts to go to the longarmer. I had already sewn the long back seam for the one on the left so I just needed to cut batting and trim it to the right length. It is pieces of 2 different batiks for the back. The one on the right has 3 pieces of Kaffe collective fabrics for the back. They were all trimmings from previous backs, 2 were wider and one narrow. Then I cut the batting for it too, and trimmed it to length. That is easy to type, but a real workout to do.
I'm glad I kept looking for a back for this quilt. The teapot fabric is one of the Liberty fabrics that Kaffe did the coloration for. With the purple and red, it was perfect for this medallion quilt top. I sewed the long seam and trimmed the excess backing fabric.
When all of that was finished, the clothes were ready to come out of the dryer. Yes, I'm one of those people who remove the clothes immediately so they don't have time to develop wrinkles.

I try to be the one who gets her laundry out of the dryer right away….just not always successful. It is a workout getting battings and backings prepared. Especially batting on a huge roll. The tea pot fabric is an awesome find for the backing, sweet!
Cute fabrics...I hate laundry but, I'm with you...I hate dryer wrinkles, as well.

Looks like another finish is in the near future!
That dark spacer strip kinda jumps out. I think a dot (or as KF called them, "spots") would work but another colorway. Sometimes it seems to take as long to decide on the arrangement for a pieced back as it did to arrange the top. Only an inch of snow so far but it's coming down steadily. No wind, fortunately.
Grand Saturday post ~ your Friday was full of non stop projects. Loved seeing all and the teapot fabric for your medalioin was made for e
Was made for each other.
that tea pot fabric is to die for! How did I miss that when it came out? I'm a tea pot collector from way back (:-)
What great progress on several quilts, backings, and battings!! You've been busy while you consider the next change for the quilt on your design wall or if it's ready to sew as it is.
That jazzy teapot fabric is a delight!
Hugs!
I try to remove clothes immediately too - who wants to iron. Is this the final placement now for the first quilt you show? It looks good
Competition for space on the design wall. I can relate to that as I have several projects in the works at once, and they'd all like to be up there.
Your spacer strips are so interesting--I like the squares here and there, Wanda--this is looking so lovely.
The flannel blocks will make such a cozy, comforting quilt...
Love that teapot fabric--so special...
Hugs, Julierose
