Purple...................

I pieced a 10.5" nine patch block to try in the top left corner.  I don't like it with seams not lining up.  Next I folded the 5 row sewn part so I could see both the top and bottom edge and pinned it back on the wall.  I now could reach to design a top row and lean down to design a bottom row (minus corner blocks).  I sewed those 5 blocks together for both rows and they will wait for my decision on corners.

I had PT in the afternoon and stopped for grocery shopping on the way home.  When I looked out my  kitchen window this is my new view of my back yard.  The neighbor behind me has 2 dogs so the crew was there early yesterday morning starting the fence.  It was all up except the gate on her driveway by the time it was getting dark.

The corners are a dilemma. Looking forward to see how you solve it. Looks like the new fence is one of those shiny plastic ones…….

Those corners are a challenge for sure on Rosy;))
Fences make nice spots for shrub borders; we planted Nellie Stevens hollies along our privacy fence a few years ago and one
climbing rose...
32 this morning and very gray here--today I have my dental appointment--fingers crossed for a good result...hugs, Julierose

Hmmm. I see what you mean about the 9 patch corners not working. Surely the idea solution will come along soon.

Hummm .... perhaps a HST of appropriate size in each corner? I've done that and it gives a bit of a rounded look to the corners. How did the subtle deep purple squares look in the corners?
Hope the PT is helping!

Hugs!

So many purple fabrics! That makes it even more fun. Keep us posted on the corners.

The new fence lets you see your bird feeders more clearly. All of the fences here are made with vertical wood boards that end up turning gray with age (or green if they stay wet and get moldy looking - we use Wet and Forget to keep ours not-green).

nice that they put up a fence to keep the dog in their area and it won't be digging holes and leaving areas to watch where you walk - and I agree the bird feeders are more clear. Truthfully I'm not sure how you should finish off the corners but it does look good to me as it is right now.

How do you feel about the fence? I am sure you will come up with a solution for the corners.

Here's my suggestion for the corner blocks. I don't remember the sizes of the inner border blocks or the 9-patch sub-blocks, but could you cut a single fabric block the size of the inner border block, plus one sub-block, then border those with the outer border sub-blocks. I'm not sure is this at all clear, but I think it would make the block fit without throwing off the seam lines.

The big 9-patch does look funny. Good to try. More thinking to do. -Roxanne
