It's binding time...................

The 16 patch quilt made with Nancy Crow fabric has been trimmed now and I'll look for binding today.  The red stripe is the only Nancy Crow fabric that I had large yardage of so it ended up being the backing.

I ended up with a variegated 30 wt. thread for the quilting of mug rugs and a table mat.

First I quilted the 4 mug rugs that are the same size and then trimmed them to prepare for binding.

They will be nice used backing side up too.

I decided the same thread would work on the Kaffe fabric table mat and got it quilted and trimmed too.

I had a fat quarter of this Kaffe print and thought it would make a nice backing for the table mat.

Outside, I cut down all of the Sungold tomato dead plants and brought the tall cages into the garage for the winter.  Now all of the tomato plant area is cleared but I still have some peonies to cut down.  It's supposed to get up to low 60s a few days this week so it will be a good time to get it done.  They are talking 40s for next Sunday.

These mats and mug rugs are so cheerful and colorful! The thread you chose is a good match. Sometimes vareigated threads work the best.

So many wonderful colors in today's post!! Happy binding . . . DH pulled out our massive coleus plants yesterday afternoon (sadly they were done for the season). The dracaena spikes will hang on for another month or so and I'm waiting to see how long the Gerber daisies last (still blooming). And then much to everyone's surprise, we had our first frost last night!

Nice little finishes all around. A great thread choice. I think we had a few sprinkles in the middle of the night, but it's full sun today. No frost yet.

Wow! You're on a roll, Wanda, and all these projects are looking wonderfully colorful! I'm glad the variegated thread worked so well in so many of these big and little quilts.
We had rain all night and it's still drizzling but is supposed to get to the low 60s*F with 40*F tonight.

Hugs!

Even though it was your only NC choice, it’s a good backing for the NC quilt :) I love, love, love the backing for the table topper!
