Thanks to everyone who has tried to help me with the dilemma of the corner blocks of my purple Rosy quilt. Since several were no reply I couldn't comment back to them. This post showed my first trials for corner blocks. This photo shows a side border block. The 2 larger squares touch the outside edge of the center and the rows of 3" squares are on the outside edge of the quilt. I'm showing that the block will finish at 9" x 10.5".
The corner blocks need to measure 10.5" square. This photo shows that with the one larger square at the inner corner, that the 3" squares are lacking 1.5" to reach the 10.5" size.
Using spare parts I did a mock up of what will work. Four of the pieces will need to be rectangles instead of squares. I will sew one of these and put it up on the design wall and see if I like it. I have already made a 9 patch block that measures 10.5" but I didn't like the mismatching size of the squares from corner to border. It is up at the top left corner on that photo.
I have a dark rose, light pink and champagne color group all blooming here.
I moved the red and white one over to the coffee table because it was bumping into those other 3 plants.
The white one doesn't have many blooms but the ones it has are beautiful.
Yesterday I got 4 Lidocaine shots in my back to test whether they have the right spot. There will be another set of those shots and they will analyze whether radiofrequency ablation, which is complicated because I have a pacemaker, will be the next step.

You are so good at puzzling out how to manage those pesky corner spots:)))
Your cacti are really pretty...I love that shocking pink one...
43 here--much warmer this morning and raining a bit...
I hope your weekend goes well and that the shots did their thing for your back...hugs, Julierose
You are so excellent at working out solutions! Rectangles...brilliant! Hope you can also get to the right solution for your back.
I knew you'd come up with something.
At least sorting through this quandary has been exercise for your brain! I sure hope your doctors are beginning to get a handle on helping you deal with your pain.
Seeing your process as you thought through what to put in Purple Rosy's corners is interesting.
Your cacti are lovely!
Hope these treatments and injections help end your back pain.
Hugs!
Prayers for your back pain…and that they can find the solution soon.
And yet through of this you came up with a solution for your Purple Rosy corners. And what a grand display your cactus are putting on.
I hope the next set of shots help more than these did and it does sound like the pacemaker could cause problems for the other treatment. I had to move several of the cactus's so I could view the blossoms better.
I forgot to put my cactus in timeout so it has not produced any buds, sadly
Your Christmas cacti are looking beautiful!
