The center of the quilt is still folded up and pinned on the design wall and I tried 3 fabrics as coping strips to use with some of the leftover 9 patch blocks for the corners.
I don't want the corners to be what catches attention first. Still no decision made.
I pulled out some strips for some mindless sewing while I glance up at the design wall.
I will eventually figure out how to finish the purple Rosy.

Letting a problem rest is always a good idea. It’s been super foggy here the past couple of mornings with no wind.
What happens if the coping strips are on the outside edges?
I think the coping strips will be fine and that the viewer won't see them first. But better to let them simmer for a while. Meanwhile, the new strip sets show promise!
Have you tried making a corner 9-patch that is irregular? The inner two sides would match the size of your first border pieces ,say 2 1/2 x 3 1/2,” and the outer corner pieces would be 2 1/2” sq. I’m not sure what the dimensions of your two borders are, but you get the idea.
This is a tough one, Wanda; my eyes do grab onto those strips as standing out a bit? Just my own reaction though--that could be a feature, too...
32 here this morning and 29 at midnight overnight--I had trouble with sleeping...been watching Ken Burns' the Amer. Rev. series; those 2-hour long episodes get to you after awhile...esp'ly with today's goings-on.(!!!)
I like how your new strips are coming together...
Hugs, Julierose
I agree that you don't want the corners to be noticed first, but in so many quilts that is the reality. For the coping strips I would go with four different fabrics to sit with the very scrappy vibe of the quilt - not solid, not tone on tone, but not screamingly noticeable ("loud") either. Tricky business!
I like the fabric you used on the lower (my right) corner. Beautiful color choices as always!
Purple Rosy looks perfect to me, I can not see how it can be any better than it is right now.
What a conundrum, Wanda, and I applaud your mindless sewing and glances in Purple Rosy's direction to see what ideas pop into your very creative mind! No hurry.
I like the coping strips that separate the corners from the body of the quilt.
Hugs!
Have you tried continuing the border around the corners? It would be one square along with 3 four-patches for each corner.
sometimes I do that too leave it on the wall and keep looking at it over a day or two and something might come to you
