I named this quilt "Sunday Only" because it was a project in 2022 that I worked on just on Sunday evenings. I did do cutting of triangles on other days but all of the sewing was on Sundays. If you check back to this post and scroll down you can see the antique quilt that was my inspiration. I was about a third of the way into the quilt when I realized that all of the triangles in the antique one were marching right and I had been making them marching both left and right. At that point I knew mine wouldn't look like the original quilt so I just did my own thing for the overall design.
The backing is one of my least favorite Kaffe prints but it was perfect for this quilt. The binding is assorted lengths of many different Kaffe fabrics. The quilt is 62" x 74". It has Hobbs 80/20 batting and was quilted by my longarm friend Robin.
Last night I started the binding on "1956" and shown here are 3 different cuts of the fabric and how they look with no flowers, lots of flowers, and just the edge of the flowers.

Beautiful finish on Sunday Only, Wanda--such gorgeous colors throughout.
55 this morning with a beautiful sunrise...
Our natural world around us is still full of "light" despite the "darkness" that now covers us....

That is my least favorite Kaffe print, too. I like your Sundays Only quilt with triangles marching in different directions…..lots to look at that way.
Having them march both ways is better. Congratulation on another finish.
I love the misty colors effect of the triangles, and the "both ways" choice.. But what will you be doing Sunday nights?

Sunday Only and 1956 ~ two unique Quilts to treasure. It’s been a treat to see these quilts grow and complete. JJM
Love the triangles. Love the way they are set. Such fun
What an amazing tribute to the inspirational quilt. You’ve created a beautiful Sunday quilt, and I love how you chose the name. Congratulations on an amazing finish!
Wonderful -- I like the bright spots of the lighter fabrics. And the backing is just right.
