This quilt top looks a little chaotic from a distance and very interesting close up. I'm happy with the way the pieced border worked, giving a hint of border without any distraction from the center. Even with the border added it's still a small quilt at 53.5" x 65.5".
The next floral/nature quilt will be sawtooth stars. Some will be matched fabrics like this one.
Others will be mixed groups of fabrics. The one on the left has dark star points matching the center square and 2 different light fabrics. The one on the right has a different fabric for dark star points and one light fabric for the rest of the star. I need to cut a lot of light triangles and squares but all of the center squares and most of the dark star points are already cut.
I'll trim one of the quilts that are waiting for binding and work on that alternately with making star blocks.

Oh, I see you got two birds in the borders :) I think the polka dots help move your eye around when seeing at a distance and the florals provide close up beauty. Enjoy Thanksgiving tomorrow and keep warm!
Great borders on your floral finish--nice work putting these all together...;))) Great November flimsy!!
34 here--a bit colder this morning early. Well, today we will be getting the house in order day and pulling out serving dishes etc...
Thankfully, I have Tom's help...hugs, Julierose
The borders look wonderful - such eye candy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
It didn't take long for the next quilt idea to sprout!
This one turned out beautifully. Who would have thought one stash could have such a variety of floral prints! We are expecting a warm day with a high in the 80s. TG should be considerably cooler though.
What an interesting and delightful quilt top you've finished and someone will be so lucky to love it.
One of my early quilt books called Sawtooth Star "Evening Star" and that's what I've called it ever since. It's my favorite block and I look forward to seeing what blocks join that pretty purple block.
Our coming weekend nights will see a low of 20*F here. Yikes!
Hugs!
