3 blocks........and Kaffe.........

I had a rest day yesterday, only stripping beds and doing laundry and sewing 3 blocks.  I will get to the design wall today and rearrange the blocks in a pleasing order.  Then I can sew the top together.

My amazing daughter left here (60 miles west of Chicago) at 5:45 a.m. to drive to Jonesborough TN to attend Kaffe Fassett's lecture on her way home.  I wasn't sure she would get there in time and when she sent me this photo it made my day.  She had purchased tickets before I had my pacemaker surgery and I didn't think I was ready to travel yet.  She said the program was really good and I'm sorry I couldn't be there.  Brandon and Kaffe both have shirts made of their own fabrics.

Wish I had known... I would have invited you to make the trip easier.... by offering a stopping point... coming and going. Wouldn't have made it shorter, but it would have been free! I considered going... but I spent through all my allowance this year already!!

That is unfortunate you didn't get to go, but maybe another opportunity will happen. I am glad your daughter did make it on time.

Great photo! I attended one a couple years ago, it was very informative and seeing his quilts in person was a treat. I see much of the great color sense in your work. Your new site is very, very nice. I included it with a link on my little blog so that my friends and followers could see how talented you are. Thank you for sharing.

I took a workshop with them Fall 2016 and it was great.

Your "rest days" sound like work days for many others.

so sorry you weren't able to go. I know they would have liked to have met you.

That would have been fun to see - glad your daughter was able to see them sorry you weren't quite up to it yet.

They came through Seattle a couple of weeks ago and I took a workshop. What an experience. Besides they’re both being delightful, the workshop changed by approach to quilts forever—wow!

So glad your daughter made it! I think you could teach them a thing or two. Like how to combine colors from different collections and batiks.

I thought of going also but I didn’t. My quilt budget has gone overboard lately and his workshop would have put me in 2019’s allowance. Be sure and get your rest, it’s so important to healing.

I so agree with Linda Swanekamp's comment... "You could teach them a thing or two". Your amazing daughter takes after her mom for sure ! You two professionals make a team like non other. So enjoy your new on-line store and always your daily blog. I think I am doing good to check in on your blog, I can not imagine how on earth you two set up your fantastic on-line store.

I to am glad you're health is improving. I attended a lecture here in England and saw the work at the Quilt Museum too and it is indeed fabulous as are they. However they could never match you in your colourwash quilts, they too are fabulous. I am so impressed at what you achieve and the variety. Your are very talented, with best wishes Sylvia
