More mug rug progress...............

I took all of the quilted and trimmed mug rugs to the basement so I could lay them out and start choosing bindings for them.  They are all different sizes, whatever size I can trim the crazy piecing to straighten it is the size it ends up.
Here are the backings.  I needed 3 different bobbin thread colors to quilt them.

I ended up with 6 different binding fabrics for the 15 mug rugs.

As usual the weathermen were wrong.  A week ago they predicted 1-3" of snow and we got 6".  This weekend they predicted 8-10" and I think we got about 4".  We ended up in the warm section so the roads and driveways melted off.  Now we go into the deep freeze, -5 for Thursday morning, that is if they have it right this time.

Your Mug Rugs look like mini 'works of art' :)
Our weather has been fairly mild for the time of year - only one night of frost so far (that I have seen) and no sign of snow - I expect we'll get it all sooner or later. I just need to tidy up the back yard then I can hibernate for the winter haha.

It was in the 20s and 30s this weekend but my husband still got out and worked on the yard. I stayed in and baked 3 batches of cookies, some gumdrop fruitcake (a family favorite), and then packaged up 4 boxes of gifts and goodies for our distant family. Whew, we were both tired!
Whenever you do a batch of mug rugs I just love them--small treasures!

The mug rugs are mini works of art! So much to see in a little area. Most of the snow around here fell south of Buffalo, only got a couple of inches. Finished making 100 cards and need to get them mailed out before I can work on quilting.

I was inspired by your mug rugs to get sewing. But then my first one turned into a 16.5" square block. Next time I will start with smaller scraps.
Yours look great. I love the backings you chose for them.

Your mugs rugs are wonderful. The purple checkerboard quilt is so pretty! I was out walking around this morning and it was 36 degrees which didn't feel too bad. The snow was melting and very slushy.

Do you sell your mug rugs or just give them as gifts to friends and family?
I would be interested if you sell them how much you charge and how well they sell.

Can you email me at tvonzalez at gmail dot com?

Those are so nice and make great gifts.

Ha....weather is the only job I know where you can get so much wrong and not loose it.

Are you doing mug rugs just because you happen to have them done, or because they are going to be Christmas presents? I wish I had enough initiative or whatever it takes to make a bunch like you do. Yours are great, and they would be nice to have on hand!

You are the perfect person to ask. What size are mug rugs usually? I just finished practicing some free motion quilting on a couple sandwiches that are 6 x 6. Is that too small?
