Quilting and blooms..........

My two friends came over to sew yesterday and I spent most of the time finding backings for quilts that I want to finish this week and next week.  This was the simplest one to do next because it is only 40" wide so I didn't need to piece the back.
I used the same pink print that I used on my pink 16 patch.  I have enough left to do binding but I think I will go darker with it and use one of the reds that are in the blocks.

So....that is two that are waiting for binding.  They will probably be machine finished bindings.

The Amaryllis is blooming and it is a really rich red.  So far it has been standing up straight with no sign of tipping.

I don't know if the 2 small buds will bloom but if they do it will be 6 blooms on one stalk.  There are usually 4 and one time I had 5 on one.

I love seeing the quilt as a backdrop for your amaryllis.

The amaryllis has a stunning backdrop! Love the uneven line quilting. The only thing I did quilting wise so far is buy more fabric when I went to visit my daughter. Bought some for another OBW, not sure if it will work, but I have been eyeing it for 3 months. I would just love to hole up and just sew.

I waited too long to find an Amaryllis this year and when I started to look they were all gone - next year! I like the backing you chose and the quilting that you did - goes great with the piecing - doesn't detract from the design. Sometimes I find quilters put so much quilting in the quilt that you do not focus on the design but on the quilting - I would rather the focus was on the design and color (my opinion)

When I first saw the amaryllis against the quilt backdrop, I thought "Wow, she made it an appliqu├ęd art quilt!" Then my brain kicked into logic mode and I realized what I was seeing.

I LOVE the colors in the pink and green quilt. That is a nice finish with the wavy line quilting.

The amaryllis is really stunning. The wax technique worked much better than I was expecting. I will have to watch for one next year.

Amaryllis is beautiful. What type of longarm quilting machine
do you use. Thanks, Diana

That pink and green quilt is fabulous -- just wonderful! And that is just from seeing it in your photos. Can only imagine how it looks in real life!
