I had this small 16 patch quilt loaded on my longarm for almost 2 weeks so I decided I had to get it quilted yesterday. I chose green zebra fabric for the binding. I decided to hand finish this one and am almost halfway done with it.
The leaves on my redbud trees always turn yellow and then fall off.....but not this year. The leaves are hanging on longer than usual and are a strange shade of rusty brown. That is a Rose of Sharon branch in the foreground.

that binding goes so perfectly with that quilt - looks great. My redbuds normally turn a reddish color but this year has been weird, trees that normally turn early haven't been as early and some that are late have turned - very strange year!
The green zebra fabric looks great. I'm just amazed you found some.
I love that green binding too!
Yes! Most of the trees, etc. are holding their leaves longer - must be the mild temps. The colors out there right now are delicious - the reds are like fire, there are yummy corals and peach, etc. Even my perennials have pretty leaves.
Our two maple trees still have their leaves and all the crab apples have their leaves. Strange year. The binding is a perfect color choice to frame the quilt. Chris
At first glance, I thought the picture of your red bud tree was fabric. Anyhow, it's been an interesting fall. The leaves have been hanging onto the trees longer this year. I love the binding on your quilt - very nice!
I love the zebra binding. It adds a very organic feel to the quilt and plays well with the other fabrics.
Love this 16 patch---the colors look like jewels---
I love the green zebra fabric. I might have to find some colored zebra prints.
The binding is perfect on that quilt. I think the weather has screwed up our plants this year. Enjoy your day.
Fun quilts deserve fun bindings.
Such a pretty combination of photo's today Wanda. Again they make a such a pretty statement together. I too really like your binding... I know it is ZEBRA but it could be blades of grasses framing your garden. Is it your peony garden ?

Love the green binding. Perfect.
Your photos look like impressionist paintings - how beautiful!
Nice binding. We usually do not have a lot of color in our leaves, but we have two limbs of bright yellow among the green!
The green zebra fabric made a perfect binding for this quilt. I wouldn't have though of that.
I think stripes often make great binding - lots of fun if you do a bias binding, which I'm almost always too lazy to do - but almost as good with just a straight binding as you've done. And, of course, in my book, anything "zebra" is just awesome!
