I have been working on the last 30 blocks of this series, and this is it.....I'm done after this one. I sold the last top. I still have the first quilt of the series "Wild ZigZag". This one will end up more like a twin size. I sold 2 other tops in the last month too, this batik one and this one. All 3 of these were favorites of mine and I didn't make any of them with the intention of selling them. I find that most people like my favorites the best which confirms the idea that I should always make quilts that please ME because my heart is in them. I rarely have fun making a quilt to try to please someone else, their colors, their design.
I have some blocks fully pieced ready for the last trimming, some at 13", some at 11" and some at 8". It will probably take me another 5 days to complete all of them.
I started cutting pieces with my die cutter yesterday too. I have 3 quilts I need cut out. One is plaids, one is corduroy. I haven't chosen the fabrics for the third one yet.

Now that the weather is cooler cutting quilts is a good way to spend your time. Theses blocks are very inspiring to a color lover. Chris
You're do right! Do what you love. It's fun for you and someone else will love it too.
I also find I don't enjoy the process when I am 'doing/making' for another- gift yes, but specific no!!!
I think life is too short to do things you don't enjoy. I wish I had learned that earlier in life!
Congratulations on the sales. I hope you were okay with parting with the pieces. They were lovely. I agree with Gene, do the things you enjoy whenever possible.
corduroy I don't think I have ever heard of a quilt made from that - process similiar to denim?
I love your statement about making quilts that speak and sing to your heart . . . and you do it so spectacularly well that it's no wonder the rest of us LOVE them, too.
Our best work is always when we do what we love.
That's because your quilts are exuberantly fun! Looking at those completed blocks just makes me smile - the fabrics are happy to start with and you have combined them to make them even better.
This has been a favorite block of mine this fall. I know you will design this one as grand as the others.
Plaids and corduroys up next, sounds nice and cozy.

That is so true... it's hard to enjoy working to someone else's preferences. Much better to find people who love what you create!
Love these blocks! How many projects do you work on at one time?
I was visiting a new to me blog and saw the one you sold!
