Details......

I meant to take photos of the backs of the table runners for yesterday's post but forgot.
I was looking for a good green for the binding on this one and found one with both blue and green that looks really nice with it.
I also got the borders sewn onto the random plank quilt.  I put 7" borders on the sides and 5" borders on the 2 ends.  Actually I may trim down the end borders to 4 or 4.5" because it doesn't need to be this long.  Before quilting it is 78" x 106" the way it is.  It will probably shrink at least 2-3" with quilting.

Did you quilt the table runners on the long arm or on your domestic machine? They are lovely and look like a lot of fun to do.

Beautiful backing fabric. I would have had a difficult time using that one. You know how I am about wanting to hold on to the pretty ones!

A few years ago you listed the sizes of pieces you cut - I followed your suggestion and have a small collection - your lovely work is inspiring me to set down my knitting needles for a bit so that some of my parts-&-pieces can become something ?beautiful?
Hope some of your creativity has been absorbed by this quilter.

Have a wonderful day and week to come

Hugs

Those bindings on the table runners are just perfect! I like your plank border, too. Stash shopping is definitely the way to go, especially in the wee small hours of the morning. Only problem is - - - that stash tends to keep growing!

Backs can be as pretty as fronts! Love the border fabric.

Love your eye for color. You've inspired me to make a random plank quilt. I've had a package of about pre-cut batik strips laying around here forever and I think it will be the perfect thing for a "quiet" plank quilt. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

Your random plank quilts are calling my name, I fear--as if I need anything more on my "want to make" list. When I'm digging in my stash, pulling fabrics out for a specific project, I'm trying to plan ahead. I'm cutting various width strips from them, as long as they're on the cutting mat. Thinking and planning ahead --makes sense. Wish it hadn't taken me 10 years to figure that out.
Your projects, large or small, always inspire me.
