2 more and a new project......

I made 2 more red mug rugs and then packaged them all for mailing to NC.  I drove to the post office and no double vision problems.  I hope that is an indication that the eye muscles have recovered totally.
Last night I started sewing the spacer squares onto all of the strips for my next Random Plank quilt.  I cut the Kaffe fabric strips into half or thirds and left about a third of them full length.  I sewed on 122 spacer squares so there are 123 individual strips/partial strips.  It took over 2 1/2 hours to get the spacer squares sewn on and the whole thing sewn into one big long strip.  Now I will proceed as in a Jelly Roll Race quilt and there will be 5 seams to finish it into a top.

I am very glad to hear of the improvements in your eye. Sounds like you are definitely on the mend.
I can't wait this see this jelly roll top sewn. These are so much fun. I think the variations you are pursuing will be very interesting. I do a lot of planning in my quilts most of the time; but I was in introduced to the concept of the jelly roll race at a retreat earlier this year, and had such a good time with the randomness of it. The quickness isn't bad either, especially when you need a gift in a hurry.

By the way the red mug rugs are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your artistic gifts. You are such an inspiration to me!

I'm so very happy that your eyes are healing and you're feeling better.

I can't help but think your general immune system is superior to none other. So good to hear your double vision has disappeared for you.

Of course you got those mug rugs done to send off to your daughter yesterday. And sewing 123 strips on top of that !

I just made my first jelly roll race quilt a few weeks ago. It was fun to have streams of fabric all around.

I have been reading back...glad you are feeling better and the procedure went well. Sounds like wearing that patch was a pain, especially for someone always on the go like you, but glad to hear things are looking up. This jelly roll racer will be pretty with the dotted squares in between the strips.

Oh, praise God for his wonderful gifts of healing ! Yours is the second praise report I've heard today, after finding out that a friend was released from the nursing home to rejoin her family after over 2 1/2 years.

God's grace surely IS sufficient.

That Kaffe quilt is going to be gorgeous with those spacers. Now I've looked into a few videos for the jelly roll race quilt tops, but how can it be only 5 seams at this point?
