Top sewn, backing options 1 and 2........

I sewed the top together last night and see that I hung it upside down to the photo the other day.  I am still looking for a backing and thought this folk art print from Kaffe Fassett looks pretty nice with it.
Here is the same print in another colorway.  I like both of them.  The Streak of Lightning zig zag is all made from the stash packs from Vicki Welsh.  She added some new ones that are awfully tempting......
I bought my paint yesterday so now I'm committed to finishing the job, 4 more walls in the L shaped room.  I will start with the easy ones and end up with the fussy painting on the windows.  With my short attention span it will probably take more than a week to finish the job.

Even if you do a wall a day it will look nice when it is done. I like the second border audition. Chris

I was going to vote for the second Kaffe Fasset fabric, but the more I look at them, the more I like the first one better. Once again, your eye is fabulous, because they are both inspired choices.

Also really like your wall color.

Btw, the first quilt on your Aug. 28 post reminds me of one I made in the early 90's. It, too, is a big quilt.

Both backing choices look really good, but I do like the second better. That is going to be a gorgeous quilt.

And......you do more with your "short attention span" than most people I know!

Wanda, your zig-zags really sparkled in the thumbnail photo under "Blogs I Follow" on my blog. I have been amazed as of late how a photo of a work or work in progress can be so helpful and reviewing details that weren't noticeable before. I was really struggling with an applique piece, but a photo of the work showed me exactly what I needed to do.

Hi Wanda,
Zig zag is looking great. Both your backing choices look nice, but I favor the top one as it seems to bring out the orangey-red of some of the blocks.

This quilt is going to be OUTSTANDING......with either backing, though I like the first one best.

How did you wind up getting the painting done above the fireplace? Did help finally respond?

Vibrant and beautiful! Love the zigzag in your saturated colors.

I prefer option 1 . . .

I think the first one pulls out the warm tones and that seems nice to me. I don't think you could go wrong with either one though.

I like the first border option better, it looks richer. I love the way your zig zag quilt turned out! It's gorgeous!

So right now it looks close to a tie as to what backing people choose. I go for the second one only because it is closer to colors I would use in my house. Either way it will be beautiful. I hate painting and haven't done it in years. The last painting I did was in Florida painting exagerated flowers on a bathroom wall. Now that's my kind of painting. LOL Good luck and hope it all goes well.

Wanda,
This top turned out so yummy. I love the vibrant colors here! So did you select the border fabric yet? I am curious to see what you choose.
I used to love painting walls. I am not sure if I like it that much any more.
