Yesterday was the first time I had taught the crosses quilt class so I was happy that it went well. I love playing at a design wall so it was fun to watch 4 students as they played. They all got to the sewing part too. I wasn't sure how long it would take for them to design so it was hard to decide how long the class should be.
I didn't do much when I got home. I guess I could say I took the rest of the day off. While I watched 3 hours of TV last night I sorted through my batik scraps for a bunch to send to my niece in Arkansas. She has a die cutter and a long arm too. I wish I lived closer to her because I think we would have a lot to talk about.

Yaay....glad the class went well.
I need to teach my oldest niece to quilt (she has asked about it) I k now we would spend a lot more time together.
So glad you had a terrific class! That would be fabulous if you niece lived closer. I wish I had a relative that quilted, but alas, I am the only quilter in the family. Maybe one day my kids will quilt instead of just asking for more quilts from me... LOL!
Glad you had a good day. More satisfying if it goes well. Sounds like it was a good time. Chris
I'm the only quilter in the family I always wish I had someone in the family that quilted also.

It is always fun to watch the excitement of your students and to see what they create.
I have an aunt who is only several years older that me who loves to quilt. She also lives far from me.
I am glad the class went well. Are you teaching in Sandwich? It is nice to have a family member that is also a quilter. I only have one friend that is a quilter and she is not a close friend. It is nice to have someone to talk to about quilting.
You two would have a lot to talk about!!!
I have a question: From the previous post---Did you prewash all that batik fabric? I have a collection of strips of batiks(just scraps) and would like to make a similar quilt. Just don't know if I want to prewash all those little pieces.
Knowing you have taught 100's of quilt classes.... It surprised me that this was the first time you taught the 'Cross' class. Have you ever counted how many classes you have taught ?
It is fun you share your days with us... Makes us feel like we are in 'your loop' . (*._,*)

I gave away some bits and pieces this morning, too. I have a friend who is just learning how to quilt.
I wish I could have seen everyone playing at the design walls. I'll bet it was fun!
Why am I the first one to suggest you can always pass your batik scraps my way? ;-D
It would be nice to share quilting time with your niece. I lucked out with my niece, but got the nephew's wife. I was hoping for both.
