The last buds usually dry up and fall off so I was really thrilled to get one more bloom. This particular plant had its first blooms in November so I was really surprised it had such a long blooming period.
I got the kits all done for today's class and sewed the warm/cool zig zag top yesterday. We're in for the coldest day so far this winter and then Friday, more snow, maybe the big storm this time.

Our Christmas cactus is coming back. WE thought it had rotted off but one small part has been steadily growing! We may even get flowers in winter ( a few months off yet!). Your last flower is so pretty but I'm in no hurry for winter when summer was so late getting started!
I do love seeing your blooms and blossoms. Thanks for sharing.
My cactus usually pokes out a bud then dries and falls off, so I just give up on it! They're calling for snow here Saturday, changing to rain in the afternoon. I hope they're wrong because that's my guild meeting day.
The cactus is such a pretty color.
That was a lot of work to get ready for the class. I know the students will learn so much. Wish I could be one.
I think your cacti like you more than mine like me. None of mine have bloomed yet. Have fun with your class!
IF it is our snow storm that is coming your way it will be a BIG one for sure. We got dumped on yesterday (12") and now it is raining ...
Nice to see a blossom in the cold days of winter.

You will have to purchase the 2 1/2" die board from accucut--I love mine. Less time spent on cutting and more time for sewing and reading blogs! Keep all the wonderful ideas coming in 2012.
How fabulous to get one more bloom! Especially in January -- nice to brighten up the blahs of winter.
Hi, Wanda. Lovely bloom. Sounds like you're very busy despite the weather. I picked oranges today--spring is in the air! I really like your zigzag quilt--marvelous color, as usual!
best, nadia
We still call these Christmas cactus although our flower in June/July (our winter). They are one of my favourite plants. Do you keep yours inside or in a hot house - hard to imagine them blooming when there's snow outside!
It is always nice to see blooming flowers at this time of the year. I am ready for the snowstorm although I think it will only be about 6". Tomorrow I will get into the sewing room and do a little sewing.
For some reason, my Christmas cactus has more blooms this week than at Christmas time, and I'm in Florida.
