Finally quilting again
When I taught the disappearing 9 patch class I told the students about the Quilts of Valor. Beverly immediately volunteered this quilt she was making to be donated. I did the quilting on it yesterday. She made the top and sewed the backing together so all I had to do was load it on my Babylock Jewel and quilt it. I will trim it today and get the binding on so I have time to wash it before taking it Tuesday to the sew in and delivery of quilts. She also made the matching pillowcase to deliver it in. This is the same thing Vicki Welsh did for me with the first 4 quilts tops I donated to QOV. I am happy Vicki introduced me to such a worthy cause.

Q of V is a wonderful program! The woman who started it in our area is a Gold Star Mother, whose son Kris was the first soldier from Pennsylvania to lose his life in Afghanistan. This is just one of the ways she keeps his memory alive and increases awareness of the the sacrifices made by our veterans.
How thoughtful of Beverly to donate her beautiful quilt and to you also for quilting and finishing it of. What a good idea to make a pillow slip to put it in. I know it will be appriciated.
It IT a very worthy cause! Our mini group has done about 12 of these quilts to donate to our guild and we're still going strong! Isn't Vicki great? She's just a treasure trove of knowledge, as are you Wanda!

The cause couldn't be more worthy. I've donated a dozen quilts to QOV in the past few years and have 3 or 4 more to finish and take to a nearby collection center. This quilt is lovely and will be so appreciated.
