Almost done basting.......

I have just 3 more half rows to baste and then I can start quilting.  This is one area I especially like.

This is another area I like.  I have purple handled scissors and kept losing them on this area.

I needed some standing up straight time as a break from basting.  I had these 3 trays of squares that never got put away.

I decided to see how far I could go on a design with just that limited batch.  I need to pull out other trays of squares now and fill in the value spots that aren't right.

Looks like you are having way to much fun. This will be one before you know it. Chris

Basting is so hard on the back--I just finished basting a small piece yesterday--I love your watercolor quilts--your eye is so good at the blending...especially that orange section is lovely...hugs, Julierose

Ha ha...when I do something like that, a friend of mine says that (picking up leftovers -just to see) I am "chasing squirrels"

I love your watercolor quilts, so beautiful. I do wonder if after making so many of them, you get to the point that they are looking the same to you ? They all look different to me, but I wonder how you do it.

I'm chuckling at you loosing your scissors in the purple area. I can imagine how that would happen. It looks beautiful.

It's so beautiful Wanda - love seeing close-ups of the fabrics.

Wanda, your work is so inspiring…..a quilter friend shared the video of your show on my FB page this morning. I had seen it in the past, but it was good to revisit it and hear your explanations on your thought processes. LoVE all that you create!

Both of the areas you featured are amazing. So much fun to get close-ups.

All your basting makes me wonder, can't you machine baste on your long arm? I seem to remember that my long armed has offered that service and has actually done it for a couple of my friends - for pay, of course - who wanted to hand quilt bigger projects themselves. Or does that not make any sense?

Not questioning your knowledge, just curious. It sure also seems as if you're much more thorough in basting than I've ever been, but I'm sure you also get a much better result than I've ever gotten when I quilted any of my own quilts.
