All of the blocks have been pressed now and this is one of each fabric combination. There are 10 more combinations of 2 fabrics left to cut and sew.
This is the previously posted photo of all 18 combinations. I didn't have much energy yesterday so I didn't get any more pressed to prepare for cutting. I plan on cutting 4 more pairs today.
This collage shows the previous Snail's Trail quilts that I have made. The one on the left was made in 2017 and I experimented with alternate plain blocks in 2 different fabrics. The one in the center was made in 2019 and is also brown fabrics but paired with mostly beiges instead of gold and rust like I have in the newest project. The one on the right was made in 2023 and is proof that this isn't just a masculine quilt block but could be made in any type of fabric. These were cut with the 12" GO die. I also have the 8" die but haven't used it yet.

Snails Trail really is a distinctive block and has so much motion. I’ve liked it when used for a border as well. I think the browns with golds is going to my favorite of the group 😄

Neat blocks, Wanda--i am especially drawn to the bottom two--i really like that pairing a lot...Your completed snails' quilts are so lovely...what a nice collection .
81 here and humid again My son is driving to bring DH home from hospital for me...anxious to see him home and recuperating..

I like that quilt on the left of the 3 that you have done - I did one in very scrappy look. I think mine is the 8" block but would need to get it out to see for sure.
I love all your Snails Trails quilts. I especially like the finished one in the middle of the group - the way you've balanced the colors is like a tessalation.
Love all your versions. I started one this week that is scrappy blues and neutrals. The fabrics are all mixed up in each block, and I love how it is turning out.
I really need to make another snail's trail quilt. I made a bunch of them over 10 years ago and I remember that they were all fun to make.
The snail's trails blocks are pretty! I remember I was making a small quilt using that block and got a couple going the wrong direction. Oops! LOL!!
