Noisy storms passed through early in the day followed by very strong winds. I had the machine unplugged. We got .6" of rain before 2 p.m. There was a little more rain in the evening so I'll check the rain gauge again this morning.
I got this little colorwash sewn in spite of the interruptions.
Here are the two for comparison. The top one has a yellow center and the bottom one, white or cream background light fabrics. Working with the 1.5" squares has its challenges since I'm seeing the whole square when designing it and seeing only 2/3 of each square when it is sewn together. There are pieces I can see that could be changed in both, but they won't be. The are ready to be quilted and finished.
While it was storming and dark out I continued on my mission of going through piles and putting things where they belong. Today I need to tackle the die cutter area.

I hadn’t thought of the seams on a 1 1/2” block making more of a difference than on a 2 1/2” block. Definitely makes it more challenging. I think both are beautiful.
I am behind on commenting! Not enough time in the day right now! So interesting to see the difference in the color of the centers. It started raining here last night, but no lighting or thunder.
The morning news reported power outages in Milwaukee. We just had a brief but intense shower. Your watercolor mats glow! Good luck with the tidying-up today.
What a pleasure it has been to be entertained with the progress of your 12” square Colorwashes . Both are truly gorgeous.
That was me agaIn I forgot to sign in
They are both just lovely pieces, Wanda--nice works.
58 here this morning and still sunny for now--went and did an early food shopping and made meatloaf for our dinner tonight---hopefully this meal will be ok after the two culinary fails I've had!!
Frankencrumb is going to stay as is--no more searching in me left!!
Hugs, Julierose
We had very noisy and lightning abundant storms overnight - more on the way late today. Thankfully the power stayed on and there was no significant wind damage in the area. I really like the second color wash with the pinker center.
we have been having storms too. These are very pretty pieces for sure!
It's 4am & the thunder is so loud ,sounds like dynamite is going off lol the color wash's are looking great!
Wanda I made one of your color wash tops with squares I bought years ago from you. How do you recommend quilting the piece? Yours are lovely, love the yellow one
