80 blocks on the design wall.........

Since this is not a serious art quilt, but just a fast fun one, I think this layout is done.  I decided if they were going to be bouncing balls that I should match the colors within each "ball" as well as I could.  I'll sew it together today.  It should be around 56" x 70" when sewn.
Remember when I showed you last year's geraniums that spent the winter bare root in a box in my garage?  This is what they looked like when I first planted them.

This is how they look now and 3 of them have bloomed already.

The porch pots are all looking good.  I found 2 varieties of Hosta, both with yellow on the leaves, that I didn't have at very reasonable prices.  I haven't decided where they will go yet.

This is the area to the right of the porch railing.  There are 2 hostas, a columbine, balloon flowers, red penstemon, tiger lily and evening primrose.  My gardens grow close and hardly have a path between plants.  I admire neat gardens with single plants and mulch, but that is not for me.
The dark Jack-in-the-Pulpit came up a lot later than the plain green variety this year.  I was afraid this plant had died over our mild winter.

All your plants look so healthy! I wish I could grow a few in containers on the boat, but the salt spray is just too pervasive. I'm enjoying your garden vicariously :)

It is a battle in my garden. I love the lush, pack it in, full plant explosion. My husband likes the display plant with surrounding mulch. I keep sneaking plants in after he mulches.
Like the bouncing balls. It does look fun.

some of my gardens are so thick with roots that I can barely dig in them to get some of the plants out - I give up easily but I really need to get some of the plants out - maybe when all the rain is finished this week - then of course it will be too hot but maybe I can get some done in the mornings. Your plants always look really good. The quilt looks great, it has been awhile since I did a Drunkard's Path.

Absolutely love your quilt, it certainly is a bouncing ball theme. I love your garden and mine is just like yours with all kinds of plants squeezed everywhere. After you start gardening, things pop up everywhere. We have a large bird population and they deliver seeds to my garden each season. The other day I had a single white petunia show up that I have never planted in that spot. I also have two different varieties of butterfly bushes they brought me a few years back. I also get my share of insects and today I got stung by a wasp as I was gardening. My Asiatic lilies are blooming right now and they are just beautiful. I have to find out how to store the bare root geraniums, the plant looks great.

The quilt looks great and so do the plants! My SIL had a geranium that would be brought into the house to over-winter. It got huge! I know they had it for at least 11 years.

Love how the bouncing ball quilt is coming along!! Your fabric choices are awesome!! Cannot wait to see how you finish it up....
Your plants are beautiful....I love hostas and need to get some new varieties...I also need to do some dividing in the fall....I have one plant that is probably four feet in diameter!! It is a solid green variety. My others are all the green and white ones that are very common....I love the look of those..... Something about them is just refreshing to me.... We have had quite a rainy spring here in Virginia (month of May, we broke the record for the wettest month, previous record set in 1889!).... Needless to say, I have a lot of catching up to do in our planting areas.... They say we will have some better weather starting Monday...I hope that is right!!
