Back to the farm girl blocks......
My two friends are coming over to sew today so it is time to work on the farm girl blocks again. I made the star with some of the same fabrics as the hen and chick. I can't decide what color to make the teakettle handle so I'm going to search for that today. The other block we are making is the 6 canning jars. I have part of the pieces cut for that block. I will probably make 2 small star blocks in the blue combination. My quilt will probably not resemble the quilt in the book.

I like the fabrics you are using. they are much more vibrant and not so farm looking.
I think the fabric you used for the body of the large chicken would make a great handle. Or maybe a batik that is close to the color of bamboo wood.
Sounds like a fun day. I'm not sure if I will move forward with sewing with friends today or not. A wild kitten is in the garage...
Farm girl blocks? I thought I was on the wrong blog!
I like the colors of your fabrics, that blue is striking. I'm a city girl but I have spent loads of time on a farm when my Dad had one years ago. Actually the only way I like chickens is when I am eating them.
I am so looking forward to seeing your completed quilt because it will not look like anyone else's! I LOVE the way people take the same starting point (the pattern) and come at it from so many different color and arrangements. And your use of color is so vibrant and makes such a statement!
I am so sorry about not enabling my email! I thought I had done that already. Your farm girl quilt will be stunning. How fun to be able to sew with friends - very few of my friends sew.
Loving the fabrics you are using for your Farm Girl blocks... Hmm the gold in the chook would look good for the handle or red.have a fun day.
Maybe use a red or orange for the teakettle handle to pick up the lovely colors in your other blocks.
Hooray for making your quilt your way!!!
Wow, I never thought of you as a Farm Girl Block quilter. I guess I have to open my horizons more. Your colors look lovely!
