As I get ready to do my next colorwash with batik rectangles I needed to take inventory to see if I have any gaps in my colors or values.
I realized I only have 9 days until the art quilters come so I really don't want to start this right away because it might not be done by then and I don't want to rush it. I'll just do all of the preparations now and start after they leave.
I was going through a pile in my studio and found a folder that contained ideas for colorwashes and also ideas for applique flowers, the raw edge variety that I showed a few days ago. These ideas will take squares so that will be the project after the batik rectangle colorwash.

I have done one colorwash mini quilt. I know my value changes and flow were not as good as yours, I did some appliqué on top of it and that was very successful.
Very interesting sketches! I need to find my book of ideas...lost in the fabric jungle somewhere. Your batik stash is awesome.
Yay! Squares. I need to do my square color wash, so I will get mine out then, too.
The fabric looks great just being on the trays!! I love the color wash effect, but never did a large one.
