Small finish........

I always have two or three dishcloths on the needles at the same time.  I finished both of these this week so now I can choose two new colors to cast on.

I also finished basting the gray dotty quilt.  We had severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado watch so I decided the basement was the best place to be.  It turned out to be quite a bit of rain.  I bought a rain gauge so I will go out and check it later this morning.  We got .35" yesterday morning.

We had three rains and it totaled 1.1 inches. We needed rain, but it poured at 11 pm. I didn't finish anything yesterday. Chris

After weeks with lots of rain we are now a bit dry. The gardens could certainly use the refreshment of a good steady shower.

You must be getting quite a collection of dishcloths by now. I'm glad the tornadoes didn't materialize.

When I saw the weather map last night on the national news, I thought, uh oh, that is right in Wanda's area. I was hoping you did not have flooding or power outages as they are both devastating.

It is nice measuring the rain in one's own yard, and surprising at times when you get more or less than you thought.

Your dish cloths are always a treat to see. I have another 24 to give away to the our charity house. I do not put the nice border on like you do... I am always in a hurry and start increasing and decreasing at the beginning stitches in each row.

p.s. wonder when our heat will hit IL ? We are to hit 100 again today.

Have you been keeping count on how many cloths you have made? Are they all knitted? I have been crocheting mine and give them as gifts especially at Christmas. My family loves them for doing dishes and likes them smaller than usual. As far as rain I think we have had enough and now for some cooler days which I love so I can open the windows and let in the fresh air.

I miss the summer rains and thunderstorms from when I lived in WNY. Now that I'm in southern CA, we could use some rain. Do you have a tutorial or pattern for the dish cloths on your site? I looked but didn't see one. I do have a pattern book for knitted dish cloths so I could use one from there. Thanks.
