Back to the big projects.......

I baked my third batch of spritz cookies, the green ones, and then decided to do some quilting.  I had loaded this quilt the night before so I had it done by 1 p.m.
I just like large meandering on flannel quilts.  All of the fabrics in this quilt are top quality and feel like suede.  I'm not sure if I'll wash this one since it has the softer batting in it.
It has the orange print on the back and for binding.  I make single binding when I use flannel.  Double binding would be too heavy with this weight of flannel.
Late in the afternoon I decided to load this quilt and get it done too.
It has the same curvy crosshatch quilting that the first denim/corduroy/flannel one has.  I didn't have any problem quilting this one since I did the zig zag stitch over the seams that are pressed open first.  I used variegated black/white thread for both of these quilts and medium beige for the bobbins of both.

Love the b/w and orange quilt! The flannel one looks wonderful too. Do you ever sleep?

As I was looking at the last one I was wondering how it quilted over the seams since they are buried. Hmmm zigzag over pressed open seams, I will have to give that one a try, I have over 100 pairs of jeans waiting to be cut up and used.

I would have never thought to zigzag seams open-great idea.
I love the wavy cross hatch you do. I need to try that one.

When you go back to large projects, you do it with a whoosh! I love how both these came out, especially the black/white/orange one. The simple quilting really enhances the pattern on both. Congratulations on both!

Today's secret word is "redoo" - I don't like to redoo seams!

They are both gorgeous! I think the b/w/o one needs to come live at my house!u

Love both quilts. Great idea to zig zag the seams together. I will try it. The denim & plaid looks so warm and inviting!

This cross hatch pattern is one of my favorites. I do it on a domestic machine and it is fast. Love your work. Need your energy.

Look at you! Two in one, and they both look great. It feels so good to get so much accomplished, doesn't it?

Is this the Baby Lock? I don't know much about quilt machines. I still use the sewing machine my Mom had... 50 years ago!
Love what you did with it!

You're a definite quilting machine, when you're on a roll like this. Thanks for the suggestion about a single layer for flannel binding. It gets SO bulky so quickly. I would never have guessed that the black/white/orange quilt was made from flannel. Lovely fabrics.

Beautiful quilts. Thanks for the flannel binding tip and the curvy crosshatch quilting idea. I must try both.
