What I did yesterday......

I sewed one more block for this quilt and then I thought.... what if I add a row of 16 patches across the top and bottom instead of 4 more 64 patch blocks.  I might even add a strip of a red stripe before those 2 rows are added on......maybe.
I sewed the last 10 rows for this piece and pressed it.  Then I noticed I have one stripe piece going the opposite direction than the rectangle is facing.  Should I take it out and turn it?

While I watched TV I cut the remaining 300 8" squares for 5 QOV kits.

I also took all of the photos for part 2 of the crosses tutorial but I was too tired last night to do a good job of writing it so it will be ready tomorrow.

So yesterday was one of the good days...........

I always feel a simple mistake shows it is a work of art. If you hadn't drawn my attention to look I wouldn't have noticed. Sometimes with 9-patch blocks I do it deliberately to show interest. Chris

You did have a productive day! I love both quilts too! Just super fantastic.

I wouldn't have noticed the stripe thing if you hadn't mentioned it and I hadn't spent a bit of time trying to find it. :)

Love both of these quilts-to-be...

It took me a bit to find the "ne stripe piece going the opposite direction than the rectangle is facing" so I would just leave it. Unless it will just bother YOU.

I think adding a red stipe before another row of patches would be a good idea. And as for your crosses quilt....I still can't find the error! I'll have to go look at it again. Obviously, it's not too obvious! But if it bothers you, it's best to correct it now.

You were very busy. I love both these quilts and no I would not take it out. As my mother would say when things didn't go my way, it adds character!!

You certainly had a productive day! I can't see anything going the wrong way, but I don't have my glasses on. Ha Ha! Can't believe you cut 300 8inch blocks! You're amazing!

Again you are busy like a bee. I can't wait for the tutorial. What a great way to use up scraps. We are going to have another day of dodging the rain drops. All I can say that it is better than the snow that is bound to come later better than sooner.

Hi Wanda...love what you've done on both projects. I wouldn't take out the "renegade" stripe....it's interesting as is! I like your two ideas for the 64 patch quilt. You could use his red shirting stripe as the add-in.

I would just leave it. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

Love the quilt! I had to work at seeing the "renegade" one:) I would leave it and maybe a name for the quilt will come to you. I'm looking forward to the tutorial:)

Both quilts are scrumptious! It did take me a while to find the stripe going astray, but really, it adds interest I think. I like the idea of the red strip with the 64 patches, but then again - I LIKE red!

Dang, That's a productive day! Happy stitching with your Quilts of Valor group.

It took me forever to find the stripe going in the opposite direction. I would leave it, but I'm curious to see if you will!

You really did have a productive day. As for taking out the one stripe piece, only if it bothers you. I looked and looked and couldn't find it. Both quilts are fabulous. Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Wanda,
Great that you had a fun day playing with your fabrics. You know you are contagious (making me itch to start sewing). Hah.

Love the checks, those colors are really fabulous together! And I can't even FIND the one mistake in that block, so I say leave it!
