Doing some cutting..................

A lot of small pieces of batik fabric are now cut into 2" squares.  Most of these are from previous cutting sessions but new ones were added.

I also added to the 1.5" squares.  I made a lot of 9 patches from this collection over a year ago.  I mostly used the ones that aren't good for colorwash.  I will continue with some cutting while I make decisions on some other projects in progress.

We got 3/4" of rain from the storm Friday night.  My rain gauge collections for the month total 4.25".  Now we have a few dry days in a row, although some of them will be in the 40s and low 50s.

What makes a batik not suitable for a color wash quilt? We have frost warning the next couple days.

Maureen O'Connor has an "ultimate scrap quilt" pattern on her YouTube channel (The Opinionated Quilter). It works with any size square and a couple of corresponding-size rectangles. Your super-scrappy array of batik squares would work well in a design like that. (Yeah, I know, there are many "ultimate" scrap patterns!) It's nice to have some consistent sunshine in the forecast though it's chilly!

Oh nice to have all those squares in color boxes ready to be used, Wanda...I am really bad about cutting ahead as I never really know what sizes I will need to use...and also then I often forget that I have pre-cut some and stored them in boxes...[bad girl!!!]:(((
Foggy this morning with 45 degree temp out there--damp and chilly...the temps are supposed to plunge overnight here. Thankfully i didn't put away my sweatshirts or my Winter
duds ;))) I ended up sewing the bottom strip on all four sides, but it came out a bit on the "wavey" side--I will have to figure out how to true it up...hugs, Julierose
