A finish............

This one was finished too late last night to get photographed up on the design wall.  I trimmed it and sewed the binding on last night.

I sewed 4 long strips together for the back of this one.  They were all cutaway pieces from piecing previous backs.  I'll have to photograph the whole back when I do the front today.

I have 3 compact burning bushes along the south wall of my house.  This one is usually the prettiest and sometimes it gets too cold for the other 2 to completely turn color.

This is the middle bush and it usually has the least of the bright red leaves.  This is the best year so far.  The bushes were planted in June 2021.

This year the one nearest the west corner of the house is pretty too.  The last couple years it dropped its leaves when they were just starting to turn red.

The leaves on the lilac bushes are prettier this year too.

My maple tree in the backyard looks like it is just starting to turn color but I couldn't get a good photo while facing west in the afternoon.

I love pieced backs but they do take more time. Is it something that in a year with such a lack of rain, your bushes have the most wonderful colors.

You certainly are getting some pretty fall colors.

Love those burning bush colors--very pretty:))) I love that pieced backings make a quilt lovely on both sides...
56 here this morning and sunny after last night's raging winds and rain. I hope your weekend is a good one hugs, Julierose

Love that zig zag you've just finished - it has been one I've looked forward to seeing ever since you started it. And a pieced back as well -- awesome. Your bushes are gorgeous - our lilac growing up never had such pretty purple leaves.

The zig zag quilt was started and finished in record time!! What care do you take in keeping the pieced backings straight as its quilted or doesn't it matter?
Lovely burning bushes!

Hugs!

You know how much I've admired the zigzag as you've developed it. I look forward to seeing the back. Are the lilac leaves really that purple? Wow!
