Looking through things....................

I love the designs that look woven.  These are all free patterns on the internet.  The one at the bottom left is called Simply Woven (by Moda Bakeshop) and you can find it by doing a search for 'Simply Woven quilt pattern'.  I  made 2 out of 3 of these.

This is a pattern I purchased and I made this one too.

I'll be thinking about one of these as a project sometime this fall.

Here are the 3 I have made so far, from left to right, Simply Woven (batik), Jelly Roll Jumble (Kaffe), and Matrix (Kaffe).  The only one of the 4 I haven't made is Cut Loose quilt which is a fussier cut quilt than the other 3.

Plants are definitely starting to look like autumn is here.  This is the Compact Flare Hydrangea which started flowers but didn't tolerate the hot and dry summer very well.  I should have watered it more often.

It is next to the Yellow Coneflower by the corner of the house.  The largest bloom of the hydrangea is at the right side of this photo.  I will continue to water these 2 plants all month to be sure they survive for another year.

Lovely Woven quilts you've made, Wanda--I especially am drawn to the Batik one (L) --just so pretty;)))
My poor tomato plants' leaves are all curled and drying...we have been faithfully watering, but I think this cooler than normal spell has worked its way with them!! Just a few red grape ones still hanging on...we are disappointed in them as their skins are way too tough...;(((
56 this morning with a lovely sunrise. Expecting my daughter and granddaughter for lunch today--what fun!!
Hugs, Julierose

You introduced me to the Simply Woven pattern. I need to take another look . . . Isn't this sunny, coolish weather wonderful?!

Cut Loose is eye-catching, but a lot more thinking would have to happen since it is on the diagonal.

What interesting quilts and I can see how they lured your into making them.
About 15 years ago, there was a woman who came to speak at the quilt guild and her subject was to take same width strips of fabrics and lay them out like a woven pie topping: over-under-over until it was the size you wanted. Then pin everywhere and sew all over this way and that to secure the strips stay as you positioned them. You end up with a one layer quilted top that looks finished on both sides and can be layered with batting and backing if you choose. I never used her idea but the quilts she showed were interesting.

Hugs!

I love woven designs too. I just downloaded that Jelly Roll Jumble, as I have a jelly roll I'm itching to use. I rather like the fading, golden look to the summer garden. But I love all things fall, so that's understandable.

the one called Jelly Roll Jumble looks familiar I have printed out numerous free patterns over the years and wonder if it or one something like it is in the pattern box. You have a lot of good choices to to go through
