This quilt was made from one of those boxes of blocks that I unearthed last year and which finally came to the top of the list for quilting. If I remember right I had to make a couple blocks to be able to finish the top. It's a small one, 40" x 59.5", so it was easy to quilt on my Pfaff. The fabrics are Kaffe Fassett collective and Martha Negley. It has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it.
The backing is a fun print designed by Brandon Mably. The binding is 4 different fabrics, 2 strips of one of them and 1 of each of other 3.
Yesterday I did a layout of a friend's blocks, filled the bird feeders, picked tomatoes and cut down one Peony plant. Then I looked through a few books for inspiration. I think that was enough for a day of rest.........
One of the books I looked through was this one, and I turned to the page that inspired me to make a quilt.
As a reminder, this was my version of the quilt. I love this one so much. I have been thinking about making this pattern in another color.
This is a batik I ran across when I was looking for a binding for the current table runner project. This photo shows about 18" x 22" so you can see it is a large print. I think I will be a back of a table runner in the future.

I love the pop of bright blue in the batik piece. Hmmmmm, what color will you decide on for the 9-patch remake……..
I have that book by Rachel May -- her first book, An American Quilt, is a great textile history.
Beautiful works--I love the one that was inspired by the Rachel May book...great colors...
66 here and rather warmer than it has been last week--I guess we are back to Summertime for a while...hugs, Julierose
LOVE that green quilt you did, Wanda....Reminds me of spackled sunshine thru trees in a garden. Another book I need to ask the library for.
The quilt turned out great and the different fabrics for the binding work together very well!
Fantastic quilt ! So full of your traditional fabrics and designing. Fun to see whats on your mind for your next creation.
another quilt created so quickly - it sure helps to have blocks already made and stacked up in project boxes - it was made quickly
I love your joyously colorful new quilt and the inspiring quilt in the Slant book! Your green version is spectacular and I'll look forward to seeing what color you choose for the next quilt made from this picture.
Great quilt backing fabric, too. Your stash must be glorious!!
Hugs!
Barbara is right, it's a joyous quilt!
