Blue....................

The binding is sewn on the blue Kaffe Pinwheels quilt and the hand stitching is started.  I got 2 sides done while watching 3 hours of TV last night.

Most of the backing is the fabric at the bottom of this photo.  I was short 17" on the second panel so I added in a fat quarter of the fabric at the top.  The colors are similar and it blends in well.  It took me over a month to make a decision which fabric to piece in there.  I'm glad I took my time because this was the best solution.  Once again the stash to the rescue.

I was looking through a drawer and found this bunch of pieced strips.  They are cutoffs from a project about 10 years ago.

I put them up on a design wall to see what I have.  One bunch is all the same width and could be used as a border.

I have 2 little quilt tops on a design wall in the basement.  They have been there for about 2 years.  This one is 32" x 36".

This one is 36" square.  I may play around with ideas for another border on one of these.

I like the round of bow tie blocks on the second top as it provides a bit of a lacy edge look.

The second fabric you added to your backing was a great choice.

Those sewn strips are indeed a happy find! I can see them circling the first of the two small quilts waiting on the design wall. And your blue backing choice was a good one. Yeah for the stash.

You are going to town on the blue pinwheel binding! It will be done very soon! The two little quilts are very pretty. I can see a couple more finishes in the near future.

Love the binding and well done on your stash save for the last 17"!
What wonderful quilts have been waiting on your design wall and those pieced Coins might do well as additional and quick borders. Good idea!
77*F here today but nights are still in the 30s*F.

Don't think you could have gotten a better mix of two fabrics than the two here, they look so good together. Good luck with the Crooked Cobblestone quilting, you have me thinking now that I realyl have not fully looked into the various stitches on my Bernina - must do! KF fabrics - I have never seen such creasing on fabrics I've purchased before, these are not at all good.
