I got all three of the little table toppers quilted but since they are ditch quilted, and the object with that is the quilting doesn't show.....here are some boring photos.....
I ditch quilted around all of the light areas on this one. Since it is only 18" square, that is plenty of quilting but I'm thinking I might do 1/4" away from both edges of the dark shapes.
You can see the quilting a little on the back.
I actually quilting this little mini first; about the right size for a mug rug. I couldn't get the quilting to show when I took a photo of the back, so you will just have to believe me that this one is done. No trimming or binding on any of the three yet.
This table topper is about 13" x 19.5", too big for a place mat, a little small for a table runner. It would look nice with a vase of flowers or a plant sitting on it. I had to change color of thread 3 times to keep the ditch quilting from showing.
This gives you an idea of what the quilting shapes are as I outlined each center and some of the seams where block met block.
Now all 3 need trimming and binding so that will be good evening sewing.
I also got the flannel baby quilt basted so maybe I'll quilt that today.
It looked like there might have been a glaze of ice on my driveway yesterday morning but there was sunshine part of the day so what was there is gone. They are predicting snow deep enough to shovel Wednesday. I haven't gotten my shovel out yet this year.

we're getting 3-5 tues nite into wed....should be the last for us...
We are supposed to get snow on Wednesday again--it is only 24 this morning and no snow melt in sight here.
Your little finishes are great...I especially like that smaller cobblestone one--it would look great with a vase on it;)))
Hugs, Julierose
We have a few stray snowflakes this morning but the forecast this week shows rain only, no snow. It will be fun to see your small finishes bound……batting just isn’t a nice clean look, lol. It is interesting to see how wonky the quilting on the table topper looks on the back, it mirrors the front but looks whimsical.
As always, love your fabrics. I have that soda pop fabric in a fat quarter I bought because I thought it was so cute but have never used it. That was during the time I only bought fat quarters, now I buy 1/2 yard or more. We have only had one snow shovel in our entire life, and we sold it when we moved from Oklahoma to Texas. We recently needed it, so we'll probably get one for next year "just in case".
Sounds like we are both on a mission to move those little bits out!
Monofilament is not my favorite thread, but it does the trick for a project with a lot of thread changes. Is that an option?
Fun small quilted items - enjoy the binding time. We are near freezing again this week (dipping close to the 32 degree point overnight) with rain (not snow for now). We brought our snow shovels with us when we moved from IN but have also added a larger hard plastic model that works to move piles of wood shavings in the shop AND deal with light snow (not the wet heavy stuff).
All fun. I always love your fabric choices.
The placemats I'm making this year are 13 x 19 (thereabouts). I've made them smaller and find it's hard to fit a place setting on them....Not looking forward to 6" but we need the moisture. Slashed squares (like your first photo) are the SAHRR round for this week.
What a delightful variety of small quilts and well done on getting them quilted, ready for trimming and binding!
We may get 6" of snow and 2" of ice in the coming two days, but who knows? The snow shovel my Dad gave me when I was 11 (first Christmas in suburban Chicago) stands at the ready!
Hugs!
I like that backing fabric - I think some of my excess blocks stacked up in a box will end up being table toppers
Nice way to kick off a new week with your ‘table toppers,’ and all quilted with your domestic machine. Thats my kind of quilting. 😉
It has to feel like you are getting a lot of projects almost finished. Since they are smaller projects they won't take as long and will be nice to get them done!
