Monday........

Yesterday turned into errand day yesterday because it was time to drive my van to charge the battery.

When I got home I chose binding fabrics for the 2 Crooked Cobblestone pieces.  I got it cut and sewn onto them.

I hand finished the binding on the mug rug last night.  It is 8.25" x 9.5".

The light color in the binding is a similar color as the background of the backing fabric.

The colors in the binding match the little lines in the backing fabric of the larger piece.

I chose the binding fabric for the third piece but it needs pressing before I can cut the binding strips.

Our weather report is for 4 - 8" of snow tomorrow.  While out yesterday I stocked up on everything I was low on.  More snow on Saturday and then single digits next week.  I don't think I'll be going anywhere for a while since it looks like the snow will hang around for some time.  Of course, this is if the forecasts are accurate..............

Isn't it fun to bind or quilt and get to enjoy the complementary aspects of all your fabrics!

I saw on the weather map last night that you were in the snow area I hope it won't be really heavy. Good thing you went out and stocked up while you could. Now to sit back and watch the pretty snow fall and do your creating!

Glad you have your supplies in house so the snow and temps will not pose you too much of a problem. Your binding choices are spot on as always. Happy stitching!

Lovely binding choices, Wanda--good to have that to do with the weather coming...we are expecting snow to begin this evening and last through Thursday with change over to sleet/freezing rain!! So, DH took me food shopping this morning as my
hands are just too sore to even drive...we are all stocked up now.

Our dishwasher gave us a red flashing signal for a "Water leak"
so we have a repairman supposedly coming tomorrow--we shall see with the weather if he gets here. So we are paper plating it for a while...and so it goes.
Only 16 here this morning--now it's 28, but feels a lot colder...
Stay warm-- hugs, Julierose

Good for you to stock up yesterday! I've got a couple of errands today and will add the grocery store. Already rescheduling a Wed. afternoon appointment and a Thurs. morning meeting in anticipation of the storm.

Your ‘mini’ pieces are full of festive fun, and I’m sure feels good to complete so many so fast. And good to hear you stocked up at the grocery store. Our weather seems to be moving east and we’ve had our snow storms and today -4 below this morning. Forecasted to hit 14 above for our high.

Those binding fabrics were each the perfect choice for its quilt! Isn't it fun to shop your stash and find just the right fabric for the bindings?
It's in the low 30s*F and heavy, wet snow is falling. Midafternoon it's to change to sleet or rain and one of those will continue all night and all of tomorrow into Thursday. Hope it's rain and not ice!

Hugs!

The backing and bindings look great. I'm in the possible freezing rain or rain or sleet or snow zone depending on the temps. It's going to be a crazy few days.

I don't drive my car enough, especially this time of the year. I know that it is good to get out and blow the cobwebs out and charge up the battery. Thanks for the reminder. I took it in for it's two year warranty check up and when the fellow that did the paperwork checked the mileage he looked at be like something was wrong. Then he asked if this was correct, "Don't you ever drive this thing?", "Yes, to church on Sundays and to the grocery store." Then he said when you're ready to sell or trade this in, I want it! LOL. He says, it will still be a new car. Actually I did take one trip out of state to my granddaughter graduation and I take my dog to be groomed in a town 14 miles away, but otherwise I stick pretty close to town.
