Lots of contemplation.......

I have been wandering around my 2 studio spaces looking at potential projects.  After an hour or so in the basement I loaded the backing and batting for this quilt.  The top needs some pressing so I just laid it on top until I get back to it.

I have so many potential started projects but of course I'd rather start a new one.  A lot of my finished tops (and some finished quilts) from this year were either cut shapes ready to assemble or blocks made and final layouts needed.  It cleared a big backlog from storage boxes.  I'll make some collages of them in my yearly recap.

On Instagram lots of people are showing their top 9 - the 9 that got the most likes - from 2024.  A friend told me how to do it so I added mine to my account.  I wasn't surprised to see Charley in the Forest as the one with the most likes.  It was very popular on my blog too.  My Instagram name is exuberantcolor also.  Only people who have a Instagram account can see the posts.

Nine Lovelies, Wanda--I also really like #8 with those offset bits in squares...great colors!!
18 here this morning--still pretty chilly for our area; but nice and sunny.
Our granddaughter will be in a sling with 2,4,6 week checkups to see if the clavicle is knitting properly.
Having Christmas mid-week is confusing.--"what day is this?" --
and so the year is ending.
Enjoy your quilting hugs, Julierose

I always enjoy seeing your posts pop up on Instagram! It’s amazing what a difference your sense of design makes in your quilts. I can see you using your color wash techniques in your “non color wash” quilts to add extra sparkle to them. I almost don’t notice you doing this until you show the quilts in smaller photos like the group of 9 photos in this post. I may be wrong but I don’t think you consider the middle quilt in the top row and second row to be color wash quilts, but I can see you using the technique (do you call it a technique?) in these quilts. I learn so much from you!

Your top nine is nothing short of spectacular! And I'm a firm believer in contemplation of projects, ideas, and possibilities.

Hi Wanda, following you on IG now too. I am on there as "tamaschen"
I only completed 2 quilts this year and am spending more time completing needlepoint projects.
I love your compilation posts.

Your creativity shines with the extra special viewing of your Top Nine today. I so look forward to your yearly ‘wrap up’ of all as well.

They look great! I have been so disorganized I haven't even started to look and see what I worked on and what was finished this year!

What glorious quilts, one and all, and each so different from the rest! Isn't that just the best thing about making quilts ... fabric choices change the look of otherwise identical quilts. Sweet!
It is always a treat to see where your imagination, creativity, and stash have taken you for that next quilt!!

Hugs!
