A busy day................

Last night I started the hand stitching on this binding.  I only got half of one long side done but I will stitch a little every night.

In the morning I ran the dishwasher (and emptied it) and did a load of laundry.  In the afternoon I made some fudge.

I also got the pale pink Spritz made.  The second tray got a little too brown on the bottom but that is the way I like them, so some of these are for me.

My rain gauge had a half inch of rain in it from Saturday.  Then there was fog yesterday morning.  It was a gray weekend.  The month is half over so that means the end of the year is a little over 2 weeks away and we will be entering the last year of the first quarter of the century.  Does that seem possible?

Where do the years go? I swear they speed up every year. Sounds like you were the busy holiday elf!

"The last year of the first quarter of the century" Well when you put it that way, it seems astounding! That fudge looks delicious. I'd eat a "loaf" of it straight away.

I hadn't really thought of this being the end of the first quarter of the century I swear as we get older the months and years fly by. Nice baking! The girls will be here on Saturdays and we are celebrating our Xmas then and doing baking on the same day lol - something different.

Your days are always fun to hear about and see your photos. I agree weeks are like days and months are like weeks anymore. Old Father Time does not slow down.

A foggy, rainy day here with our temp bounding up to 44!! No wonder this cold is hanging about with the ups and downs we're experiencing!!
At any rate, I went for what ( I hope) was my last big food shopping before Christmas...My daughter and her four are coming to spend Christmas Eve afternoon and evening with us as my granddaughter has to work on the day after Christmas and the day "of" they visit their other grandmother...so.. my son and his family will be coming the day "after" Christmas...I am trying to plan meals for both days...[so much for no big cooking anymore, huh???]
I can't wait to see your quilt all bound--it such a pretty neutral one...hugs, Julierose P.S. I will be making my fudge this coming weekend...:))))yum

I included this poem in my Christmas letter this year. Whatever’s happened to Christmas?
It occurs so often now!
When I was six or a little bit more
Though we popped the corn and we wreathed the door
Though we trimmed the tinseled bough
That festival morn, that midnight clear –
They only enveloped us once a year.
While now as the world and I grow older
Christmas keeps peering round my shoulder.

P.S. Yum! Fudge! The spritz cookies look delicious, too.

I do admire all you get done ... like the Energizer Bunny!
Oh, I'm with you that the slightly browned Spritz cookies are the best, perhaps because those were the ones I could eat before Christmas when my mother made them?!

Hugs!

Oh, I love my Spritz cookies a little more done as well :) It was predicted we would have a thin coating of ice yesterday but thank goodness it was nothing but rain. We are having rain again today and tomorrow.
