A December finish..............

This is the second of three neutral batik 16 patch quilts made from blocks pieced in 2018.  I finished the first quilt and pieced the top of this one in September this year.  The third top, waiting to be quilted, was pieced in April.

This one is now finished and is 71" x 93", the largest of the three.

I had enough yards of this backing fabric, also a batik, for this quilt.  The binding fabric was also in my stash.

Here is better view of the backing and binding fabrics.  It has Warm and Natural batting and was quilted by my longarm friend, Robin.  It is the last quilt longer than 80" in my backlog of quilt tops.  I still have more than 30 waiting in line for quilting, 21 of them small quilts, 66" or shorter.

It started snowing last night.  Only a half inch was predicted for us, most of the heavy snow north of us.

What a lovely backing--looks like marble. ;))))

Today is present wrapping day...done step closer to Christmas...

What a beautiful quilt. Your neutral colors give an elegance to this classic pattern. Do you have any tips for hand sewing with the baticks? I'm working on a batick binding and find it difficult to sew through. Take care and Merry Christmas! ...from Mary in Rhode Island

An elegant finish! It’s currently snowing here..a fine light snow with less than an inch accumulation. I bought yet another Thanksgiving cactus but it’s just a small one ;-)

Your batiks look amazing in this! You are so lucky to get snow. It is supposed to be in the low 60s here on Christmas Day. :(

I love this quilt. Our guild has been asked to make donation quilts with a masculine bent and this one of yours has inspired me to pull out my batiks and get busy. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

it is always amazing how a 16 patch or whatever the number (12, or 9) is can turn into such a lovely quilt.

The beauty of neutrals absolutely shines with this one. It is one of a kind for sure and backed and bound off with class. Quilting gives it a dreamy, fluffy cloud like appearance. A beautiful treasure.

Great finish! How do you decide which quilts go to Robin and which you'll tackle? We got about 3" and it's going to melt by tomorrow.

Applause, applause!! What a charming quilt that is now finished! I imagine your fingers are ready for activities other than hand stitching for a while.
I'm sewing a couple of microwave cozies for DS1 and DIL to use while they unpack in their new home here (!!!). They and their furniture, etc will drive back here tomorrow and moving IN will commence. Wish we had more energy so could be of more help.

Hugs!
