My choice..........

After going through the huge box of large yardage pieces, this Kaffe fabric is going to be the backing for the two wallhangings.  I decided the orange in it carried through the theme of orange in the center of both pieces.
My daughter brought me this dish towel when she visited in June.  I'm going to have company this morning so I think I need to have it displayed today.  I really try to get it all picked up but never quite make it.

I can't believe it is the end of July already.  I have 2 quilts so close to being finished but they aren't going to quite make it for my recap of the month tomorrow.

I like the background... and I think the 2nd half of the month was a bit slower in passing than the first half. Could just be an illusion... but I'm sticking with it!!!

I make no excuses for my house other than to say we live in our house. I'm sure yours is far better than mine. Your choice for the backing is great. Enjoy your company. Chris

I used to keep my house so much neater than I do now - now it is lived in messy but not horrible if you know what I mean - I don't think about it as much. Nice that you have large pieces to use for backings all together in a box to go through

The backing you chose is great. I love the towel your daughter gave you.

Time for a battery re-charge Wanda.
I think you're spot on with the backing fabric. I can remember, as I was growing up, Orange would never have been thought of as a popular color, except at Halloween, and now, it has come front and center, in clothing, shoes, hair color and in fabrics. Our grandchildren and their children are really into the color. I think, along with yellow, it's a bright and happy color, so I've been adding Orange to the color palette I use most often, especially in the projects for the young great grandchildren.

That backing will look great! July has gone fast. You got me thinking of what I accomplished this month. I will have to go back over my blog posts and see. Yes, I made equipment covers and vests, but didn't get as much done in the quilting area as I needed to.

There's really no excuse for the condition of my house but the saying is pretty fun and that was sweet of your daughter. The wall hanging is great and the backing a perfect choice.

Wanda, you made the PERFECT choice for the backing fabric (as you always do!)...I love it and the two projects. And I LOVE that towel! "The Pickers" would say...you live with your collection. :) Your house is not in any way, a mess. Being an artist means we work differently...if a couple things are out of place, it's the artistic environment...and we work best in it. That's my motto anyway. I don't have the strength, nor the will to be The Fly Lady! LOL

Love that towel's message . . . and congrats on the backing decision.

Clutter is good, it keeps dust from getting on the furniture.

I like a semi neat house but I allot only so much time to cleaning; after that it waits until the next week.
I love the color and pattern as well as the backing fabric. I'm all for happy and vibrant. The month passed quickly for me too. I don't know where it went.

I always assume that people come to visit me and not to inspect my house or judge our housekeeping abilities. If they're here for the latter, I don't much care about their opinions anyway! It's our house, we live in it, and we most certainly haven't entered it into any cleanliness competitions, so as far as I'm concerned, how much or how often we clean sine anybody's business at all.
