First quilt top for April 2026...................

Kaleidoscope 1 top is sewn.  I'm thinking of 2 and 3 so this could be a series.  I won't use Marcia Derse fabric for the next 2.  This one is 51.5" x 72".  I ended up with the 35 blocks like I originally planned.  I usually don't use the same background fabrics all through a quilt but this time I had 2 nice light ones, also Marcia Derse fabric.  There are over 70 different fabrics in this quilt top.

Here are 2 of the worst matches of points.  They are both about 1/16" off and I'm not going to fix them.  Once it is quilted and washed, they won't be noticeable.

I noticed yesterday the start of the pink buds on the Redbud trees.  It will take a couple weeks for full blooms.

  1. Those multiple seams make point matchings so difficult--I think this turned out so beautifully, Wanda--lovely finish...;)))
Our trees are showing red buds, also--my daffodils are beginning to bloom--Spring has finally sprung--I guess this coming week will be a warmer one for us--despite the still cold ocean waters....hoping to get some outside walks.

  3. For 1/16 of an inch I wouldn’t try to fix it either. I like that you point them out to show what is within tolerance and will not show once quilted & washed. It is a beautiful finish!

  7. I have always admired your quilts using Marcia Derse fabrics but her work seemed hard to find in the UK but now a major quilt shop has cottoned on to them and I received a box of mostly plaids but some prints and am all set. Thanks for the daily exuberant colour, whether plants or fabric.

  8. Lots of seam to put together here but as you say the meeting of points in the photo here aren't going to show! The colour and the way you've worked the design has made for a an exciting quilt!
