Last night I sewed all of the rest of the quarter square triangle blocks that I had ready. This is one of each of four blocks alike. They are only 6" blocks so 60 blocks would only make a quilt 36" x 60".
I pressed all 60 blocks.
I had a bag of odds and ends of floral fabrics so I went through it and pulled several that are big enough to cut the quarter square triangles. All of these are pressed now so I can do some cutting today.
I have been showing photos of the cacti by the east picture window but now I have some blooming by the west picture window. The pale pink is one of my favorite plants.
The pale pink on the left here is from the same plant. It is a piece that broke off a few years ago and I rooted it. A couple of the buds are opening on it too.
I have another small champagne color one that is blooming over by the east window. I love my indoor winter garden. I say that every year..............
What’s not to love? The flowers are so delicate and colorful, right as fall/winter come along :) I have two winter cactus, a red and pink one and the pink one is full of buds right now. I’ve not had much luck propagating any leaves, but I’ve managed to keep my red one alive for something like 7-10 years, and that includes a move from the St Louis area to the Pittsburgh area.
ReplyDeleteYour blooming cacti are so lovely;))) I have three that each have 3 plants in them--I haven't separated them as yet....They are slowly beginning to set bud.
ReplyDeleteI really like how your blocks are coming together; you are getting them all cut and ready to go in "jig" time;)))
42 and cloudy today--I'm off to get a haircut later this morning...
it will be good to get it off my neck!! ;)))
Hugs, Julierose
I love it too and am glad you are posting pics of it. I also enjoy your "riotous" colored blocks!
ReplyDeleteThe flower blocks are beautiful! I know I would not have the patience to sew those blocks together. The cactus are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love indoor gardens!
ReplyDeleteWhat delicious floral and dots blocks and what an enchanting quilt they'll soon make.
ReplyDeleteGlorious cacti, too, and that pale pink one is especially pretty.
Hugs!
It was 64 degrees yesterday and today. I got a lot of outdoor work done that I never expected to get to this fall. Of course, it's supposed to snow by this weekend. I still keep looking for a champagne colored Christmas cactus, but haven't found one yet.
