The binding is done on all 4 corners but I still have about 45" to stitch on one short side. I might actually finish it today.
Yesterday was my annual Medicare wellness appointment. One down one to go. The pacemaker specialist is next week. I'm hoping I still have another year left on the battery.
My native variety Purple Coneflowers are at their prettiest right now. Later in the summer bugs start eating tiny holes in the petals. Also the color fades as summer goes on.
This one had the deepest color and is so pretty. I have seen a Monarch butterfly landing on them. I have 2 Milkweed plants in the back of the garden so I'm hoping to see action there with some caterpillars later.
This area is in the shade most of the time so the petals on the Coneflowers are a paler color. I mowed down a lot of weeds and Lily of the Valley leaves in this area. There is a lot of grass growing in here too. There is just a little more to clean up.
I hope your pacemaker battery lasts another year also. I am taking my uncle for a battery replacement next week.
ReplyDeleteis much involved for a pacemaker battery change out? You are almost done on the quilt and love the gardens - rain again here this morning - at least no plants on the deck were tipped over this time - yesterday both of the tall tomatoes were tipped over but all I had to do was put them back up but lost about 6 tiny tomatoes
ReplyDeleteThose pink cone flowers are just such a lovely color!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your appointment;)))
You've made great progress on that binding...
It's 68.9 here with DP of 67--very close out there--after a thunder and lightning night!
Hugs, Julierose
What pretty cone flowers and healthy looking cannas!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that your pacemaker battery will be good for another year or two.
Well done on being nearly finished with the glorious Snail Trail's binding! How satisfying. :)
Hugs!
Positive thoughts on pacemaker battery check. You’ve broken all records on your eyes and I have a feeling you will with your heart also. Sending healthy wishes on your behalf.
ReplyDeleteAnother binding almost complete… I know that feels good.

My coneflowers are now all opening like crazy. They are wonderful. I have two swamp milkweed plants that are in bloom so I hope they are calling the monarchs loudly. The binding looks great on the quilt.
