I took out the darker block in the center in the photo yesterday and put in the lighter block. I wanted to keep this mostly pastel. It is 40.5" square and I'll choose a backing today. I have a piece of batting that will work with just a little trimming.
I cut one more combination of pink for the heart quilt and made the 4 blocks.
Here are all of the blocks so far. There are 4 blocks of each combination so it will look better when I get some more combinations sewn. The blocks are 6" finished.
The snow storm stayed north of us so we only got flurries. We have a few inches of snow on the ground because it has stayed below freezing.
Your hearts project is looking so lovely!! Neat pink fabrics; and the pastel 16-patch is just beautiful--you are really moving along this month;)))
ReplyDelete37 degrees here under milky skies again--a bit of sun peeping through...hope it reaches 40 at least for our walk...hugs, Julierose
That pastel sixteen patch just sings with happiness. And the hearts are really coming along - will be fun to see all the combinations together.
ReplyDeleteOK, I see the change with removing that one block! It's a cute little baby quilt. The hearts would be a cute baby quilt too.
ReplyDeleteI just got an inquiry about making a baby quilt -- thanks for the inspiration in this post!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel with changing that center block. Happiness is seeing what a difference it made. It’s another exuberant pastel.
ReplyDeleteAnd those hearts just melt my heart.
Still - 10 below 0 yet this morning here in the Rockies and it’s after 10:00 a.m. good news though… the sun is out and that feels good, we have had very few sunny days since November.

Beautiful blocks all in a nice square. Fun hearts. We have cold depressing rain, I would rather have snow.
ReplyDeleteLove those 16 patches !!
ReplyDeleteThe 16 patch quilt top is so pretty! The heart blocks are cute!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt definitely looks happier without the darker block. This is such a pretty pastel quilt, you've inspired me to go down this track with a strippy quilt I'm going to make.
