One little miscut and I only got 26 blocks from the stratas instead of 28. I put 25 of them up on the design wall. I'm not sure about the center block. I have one more of the block that is directly above it that I could work into the mix instead. Since this will be a baby quilt I think I can stop at 25 blocks because square quilts make good tummy time floor quilts.
I also got the backing pieced for the green/yellow quilt. That is 2 new tops that I have made the backings for. I hope this is the beginning of a good habit. Of course there are the 30+ tops from previous years waiting for backings that I can work on too.
I like the darker centre block but I think I would put the other 2 darker reds in diagonal corners with the more solid greens in the opposite corners. Then maybe the lighter ones around the centre. I’m not really a traditional quilter but sometimes I like to embrace the symmetry. Enjoying watching you pull together quilts from older cuts. So satisfying to use them up.
ReplyDeleteThis one has such lovely soft colors--I think it looks very comforting --nice for a baby;)))
ReplyDeleteI am in quite a quandry here as to what to take on next...it seems I always feel like that after finishing up quilts...
38 and sunny here--but feeling much colder with the western wind blowing...
hugs for a great weekend Julierose
I like the mix up of colors and those blocks of green added and then one yellow - it will make a great square quilt.
ReplyDelete‘Baby quilt to be’ is like bouquet of spring flowers, I can just picture a baby happily playing on that quilt and be one baby will cuddle and carry around for years.

The colors in this one make me feel hopeful and good inside. (sorry about that mis-cut).
ReplyDeleteThe square is great for baby quilts. Wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful soft colours with these blocks, 16 patch quilts are always a delight to see. Thank goodness I read that you hav 30+ quilt tops waiting for backing, that gladdens my heart and lessens my guilt at the number I have!
ReplyDeleteThe colors and combo colors are just so beautiful. I never tire of gazing at quilts with simple squares. It's all about color and value.
ReplyDeleteThis will be a lovely baby quilt and that center block doesn't bother me at all.
