Quilting finished..........

In a weak moment I convinced myself to outline quilt each of the tiger stripes in the border of the African colorwash...with my Pfaff, and not free motion, using the presser foot and built in dual feed on my 21 year old machine.  I skipped some of the tiny ones and just did one line of stitching through some of the skinny lines.  But, the quilting is done and I'm ready to trim and find a binding.

The black raspberries are starting to ripen.  They are late this year and some very small berries with lots of seeds.  There is enough here to top my ice cream.

There are lots of the invasive tall bell shaped flowers blooming, some purple, some pink.  I pulled out a lot of them as I pulled weeds on the path through the garden.  The path which has mulch on it is covered with creeping Charlie and other weeds.  The little 4 1/2 year old neighbor girl asked me how I know where the path is....it is that bad.

  3. I love that you have the little girl next door - I remember the ladies who lived next door to us and how I followed them around asking questions when I was little. She is blessed to have you as her neighbor.

  4. Your bell-shaped flower is creeping bellflower and it is very invasive. Spreads by seed and tuber-like roots that are impossible to completely dig up. I've been unsuccessful in removing it. Came in with plants acquired at a garden club plant sale.

  5. those black raspberries match your African quilt perfectly--did you plan that?:))) Both look yummy!!
We are having variable weather here--thunder storms then sun then clouds and more rain--the only constant is it's very humid--so I stayed in the AC and rode my Recum. Bike...and watched Hamish Macbeth ...much more fun!!

  6. That bellflower is a problem for me also. Never seem to eradicate it. Love blackberries or any berry as a matter of fact. This year I got a lot of areas under control and mulched them heavily. Good thing my yard is small.

  7. The raspberries look yummy! Too funny about what the little girl said! That would be something the fellow next door would say to me! We have a good time giving each other a hard time about stuff.
