So, which ones did I buy? I knew I wanted all of the colors of the Button Mosaic because they are more singular in color with value changes rather than having lots of colors in the print.
Moss Flower was my second choice for the same reason.
Most people pass on the light colors but I try to buy all of them (bottom piece-Hydrangea). The Pebble Mosaic is in a nice new orange and gold. The Sharks Teeth is black and white. In Brandon's original offering of this print it was navy and white. Philip's Cactus Flower is one of my favorites so I got it in green.
I wasn't sure about this Banana Tree print because it is HUGE. The blue print can just be chopped into triangles and work well but the black background has a high contrast so I'll need to think about how to use that one.
I made 2 new Hattie's Choice blocks with the 4th different black print. I knew any new blocks needed to be warm colors and this is one of my favorite pink mottled batiks.
I added in the 2 blocks I showed yesterday plus the 2 new pink blocks and moved a couple other blocks. After I took this photo I also changed the first block in the 3rd row down with the second block in the 4th row. The values work better in the new position. Now I need to choose one more color and make one more block.
Happy Sunday morning to you Wanda. Love all your new fabrics - that means a new pattern is on the way I'm guessing. I like the button selection - the banana's; will be interesting to see how they sew up. Have a good day, whatever you're up to :)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful acquisitions for your stash. You are going to have fun with them.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your stash enhancement--I love the pebbles and mossflower sets...very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHugs, julierose
I have the button fabrics and the moss flower on order - they're actually on their way now unless USPS delays them along the way. I didn't order any of the banana tree - the scale is just sooo large.
ReplyDeleteHow much of the single color KFC prints do you buy? I never know how much to get when I don't have an immediate use for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun "window shopping" display today, Wanda . Extraordinary fabrics that I rarely see except on your blog. I too am curious how much you buy of each fabric for your stash. I'm trying hard to get my stash down before my kids have the estate sale. 😉
ReplyDeleteOne more Hattie's choice block to design and I'm sure by now you have already stitched it up and put in place on the wall. Anxious to see it tomorrow.

Ha! We bought the exact same button mosaic and moss flower colors!
ReplyDeleteI didn't order any of the banana tree fabric, but I saw some last week in a local store and it's pretty amazing!
I didn't buy any of the hydrangea, but now I'm wishing I had. Oh well... there's still time!
Oh, new fabric, how divine! I got some birthday money last week and now I have to narrow down what to buy. Looks like some awesome choices.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful fabrics. It's always nice to keep an eye out for the postman when we know that we've got fabric on the way.
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have just begun unpacking my package and wish I had ordered the button fabrics to add to the other fabrics, perhaps they will be having them the local shops if not I'll send off to Glorious Colour. So Hattie's Choice almost has all the required blocks, it's a lovely looking quilt in progress.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt top is looking good! The fabric is gorgeous! I almost bought some fabric last week, but I resisted. I was looking at light colors; my stash seems to be lacking much variety in that area.
ReplyDeleteThe new fabrics are lovely! As is the quilt top.
ReplyDeletei love the button mosaic for the same reason....will probably pick up a couple of yards of the white to complement my already sufficient stash...lol
