It is the last week of the month so I have to finish some things. I'm going to cut myself some slack and allow myself to count small finishes along with my larger finishes. Previously I just listed the small pieces separately like an afterthought. I'm not sure why I did that. I started out with one of the tablerunners. I think I have 4 of them to quilt. I did ditch quilting on this one and it is ready to trim. I plan on sewing on the binding to be ready to hand finish tonight if the 3 shows I watch are NEW episodes. I also have 6 Crossed Canoe blocks I can sew tonight. I plan on unpicking more loops for the Kaffe Trip Around the World top today also.
We are supposed to get our largest snowfall of this winter last night into this afternoon. We are on the southern edge of the storm so I'm not sure if we will even get 5". They had been predicting over 6".
Good news! According to my TIVO guide, tonight is the first showing for all three! I watch those shows, too. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Count any finish as a finish!
We had a few flakes about dinner time last night; wonder if there’ll be more when I get up. It would be so much prettier to look at than winter grass! Terry in CO
As much effort as they can require, I believe small finishes definitely count!
ReplyDeleteOh they definitely count--sometimes I feel the smaller the project the more difficult your choices are...very nice work..hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteA snowy good morning to you Wanda. I tried finding the newspaper this morning, but the snowplows had made such a mess, and I wasn't going to dig through it. Judging by the table on our deck, it doesn't look as though we got more than about 2" or so. Slack is good after you turn 80, and are entitled to as much as you need! lol Love the colors in the table runner, and the batiks are so vivid. Definitely an eye catcher.
ReplyDeleteWe are due for some snow today and it has started right on time. We are south of the heaviest snow, so 1" to 3" for us, but it may mix with sleet. In regards to using expired baking mixes, my only comment is that the baking powder in cake and quick bread mixes can lose it's strength. My husband (who doesn't believe in expiration dates at all) once made a sheet cake that came out about an inch high (the mix was very expired).

I love the colors in that runner. And I definitely think small projects count! I just spent two days making a sewing machine cover for my new-to-me Singer 66 and it sure counts for me! It's snowing here now, "they" say up to 4". I say we'll see.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have lots to do when we need to stay inside. Finishing the small projects is detail work and that counts, too.
ReplyDeleteIt will be good to finish up those small projects. I know I would like to get one more finish in for the month. I have been tracking the fabric for binding that t-shirt quilt and it is now in a town 15 miles away. I sure hope it arrives shortly and that the purple fabric is dark enough.
ReplyDeleteYour table runner looks Ike a big box of delicious chocolates, dark, milk, and white chocolates. For me, brown has always been a deep rich color. And this runner is that !
