70 blocks are on the design wall but they need to be rearranged. There is too much light at the top and dark at the bottom. Hopefully I can get a better photo tomorrow during the day. My 2 newest 8' bulbs are daylight bulbs but not as good as previous bulbs I have had.
I messed up and didn't get the newest family member stocking made last year so he gets one this year. There is gold featherstitch over the seams but it doesn't show up very well in the photo. The cuff is a snowflake print with a few of them metallic.
Pretty feather stitching --(it definitely shows when you enlarge the photo) pretty choice... I find re-arranging on my wall tiring...I do it in small phases... hugs on another gray day Julierose
I do like the colors in this quilt -- blues and greens just wonderful. I also liked your idea yesterday of inserting a strip before the 2 edge rows to make it a bit wider. Could the dark blocks go along the sides with the lighter ones inside the insertions? Just playing with ideas -- I will like whatever you decide.
You'll have fun moving the blocks around. It's going to be pretty quilt. I picture it as a cool quilt for hot summer nights. The colors are so soothing.
By now I'm sure you have tweaked your 70 blocks to perfection. Always look forward to the next photo when you post that apiece needs tweaking. It is always fun to check in and see how you have redesigned it.
Sweet sock for Josh. And beautiful needle artwork. Love his name too.
JJM P.S. I almost called you a couple weeks ago, my daughter needed a quotation embroidered for one of her tailoring projects. I plugged in my Ellage'o... It took me quite awhile to refresh my memory as to how to type in the quote. Not alone hoop it up and stitch it. I must say it turned out perfect.

I rather like the subtle light-to-dark progression -- but I know that when you get a design in your mind nothing else looks right.
ReplyDeleteThe stocking is beautiful Wanda, and by enlarging it, the gold featherstitching shows up very well.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks turned out so pretty. I have two large LED round lights in my studio, but they are not located close enough to get a good picture.
ReplyDeleteThe stocking is beautiful and I love the stitching!

ReplyDeleteWow, what a wealth of blocks on that wall. Lots of fun tweaking ahead.

ReplyDeleteI love this color combo…..unique to me…..so soothing and peaceful….just what we need to finish out this rather terrible year!

It's beautiful Wanda! Now I want to try one with more limited colors. Thanks for the inspiration!
