I finished the floral colorwash that ended up just a little bit under 24" square.
I thought this was the perfect back for it.
The binding is a dark green with little shots of many colors that are in the wallhanging.
In the outdoor scene my Red Penstemon (Beardtongue) is blooming. The blooms are the very palest pink. Down in front of them at the bottom left are Balloon flowers competing for space. They will be periwinkle and pale pink when they bloom.
There are lots of buds so a lot more blooming to take place.
Florals in your quilt and in your yard!
ReplyDeleteLovely Colorwash finish and the backing is beautiful...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYou always pick the best fabric that goes with each other and makes the whole piece unique. Beautiful colorwash.
ReplyDeleteLove the colorwash. And aren't you the smart one to match up the hanging sleeve to the backing: it barely shows!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Two celebrations of blooms.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice finish for June.
ReplyDeleteI would love this color wash so I could look at it everyday. It’s beautiful.
ReplyDeletePERFECT back for my favorite color wash, especially with the bunnies. I don't think I will ever for get those sweet little bunnies (*._.*)
ReplyDeletePenstemon is a lovely compliment to your color wash.

This colorwash is probably my favorite one. Beautiful and great binding and backing.
ReplyDeleteI biggie-sized the colorwash so I could see the individual pieces and was surprised and delighted to find several fabrics that I have (some for many years). It's a reminder that cutting a multi-colored fabric into little squares yields many different shades and values. I need to try another colorwash and keep it on the smaller side, so I will actually finish it.

The colorwash is beautiful, as all of yours are! I think had some of that fabric used for the backing. I've been so blessed for so many years having fabric give to me. (Of course, I've bought quite a bit myself!)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are full flowering mode there.
That backing is perfect for that beautiful quilt. Congratulations on a grand finish!
