My only finish for February is this little 17" colorwash gift for a friend. It is made with 2" squares that finish at 1.5".
I completed 5 colorwash quilt tops, the last one being the smallest which was also made with 2" squares. The others are made with 2.5" squares.
This quilt top is almost done, just waiting for me to decide on the border. I like Julie's suggestion of using the same light print as my background but I haven't hung a piece of it up next to it yet to be sure. Maybe if February had more days I would have gotten to that point.
I decided not to try to finish anything else in February when my granddaughter invited me to her house for a family dinner last night. She is moving away again, 2 states away, and I really need to see the two great-grandsons more than I need to finish a quilt.
Now I need to clean the basement because the art quilters are coming Monday. We cancelled in January and then decided to just wait until March and hope there wouldn't be another snow storm.
You did better than me with finishes for the month although I did make three boxy pouches. Yes, it was more important to see family than quilt. We might be getting some snow tonight - March in like a lion and out like a lamb? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your one finish, and know it is loved. The butterflies are great and will be a striking quilt:)
ReplyDeleteEvery one of the finishes is just gorgeous color. In a dull month, these quilt sparkle.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good day to stay in and snow, since it's raining outside. In your group photo, my favorite is the one on the left, although they are all beautiful, as usual. I agree with Debbie regarding your butterfly quilt and look forward to the finished product.
ReplyDeleteWe are very fortunate to have all of our GG here in the Chicago area, so I hope you are able to see them often before they move. Thank God for Skype where you will at least get to see them and get some face time.
So glad you got to spend some time with the great-grandsons. Some people wouldn't have that priority and in my opinion they would be so wrong.
ReplyDeleteHooray for more family time!!
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of seeing your color washes, and enjoy them even more on my big screen computer. Just spectacular ! Good to see your awesome butterfly top again.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you, I'd be with my family before racing the clock to complete a finish, or do anything else for that matter. I hope your family can come home often enough for visits.

I'd say that was a very productive month. Love those butterflies.
ReplyDeleteI am always fascinated by your colour wash quilts - they are spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly quilt top is fabulous so far - I love how colourful it is.
I love the butterflies. I think you've had a great quilting month.
ReplyDeleteWow...look at you still going strong! Love the stars.
