January 2017 recap...........

Here are the January finishes all together. I have my quilt tops on a list in 3 size groups (small-up to 66" on the longest side, medium-67" to 79" on the longest side and large, 80" or longer on the longest side.) I have the fewest in the medium size.  I finished 2 small, 1 medium and 2 large in January.  That makes me especially happy that I finished 2 of the large ones.
I finished 2 quilt tops.  The Snail's Trail on the right was started and finished in January.  The one on the left was just a border added to a top I thought was done early in December when I sewed the blocks together.  See it here at that point.  However when I was putting away the Marcia Derse fabrics I spotted this dark brown one.
I thought it looked great with the top and added 5" borders.  It is about 65" x 83" now.

  8. Sometimes when I read your lists of finished quilts, or your faithfully daily blog showing consistent creative productivity, I say "Oh sure, all she does is make those quilts." Then I look at your art quilt meetings, charity sewing projects, baking, gardening, shoveling snow, saving minute scraps for dog beds, operating an etsy shop, answering comments and emails.............etc..........etc........etc. And THEN I realize what an amazing inspiration you are. Please don't stop!!!!!

I love your use of color in your quilts. They are very inspiring. I do think the border was a good addition.

  10. Your Color Works is a beauty and I like the change you've made from the mixed triangle border on the original by Kathy to the one fabric only.
